There is a special set of wrenches you need to do that. One wrench fits on the outside of the pulley bolts the other one fits the nut. When I need these I get them from my local auto parts store. They loan them out. I leave a deposit equal to the purchase price and get the money back when I return the wrenches.

Is the big nut holding the fan to the clutch right hand, (right to tighten, left to loosen)? 1993 navajo

You mean standard or reverse thread?
Usually crank nuts are reverse thread in relation to the direction of the pulley.

So if the pulley\engine spins clockwise then the nut is probably going to loosen by spinning it counterclockwise.

Afterall it would do no good to go down the road and have the rotation of the engine spin the nut off of the crank pulley eh?

I just took the water pump out along with fan clutch but I just can't take water pump off from the fan clutch. Can you tell detailed how to do it please! Please! Thank you Very much!

You will need a 1 - 7/16 inch open end wrench to loosen the big nut between the clutch and pulley. Since you have the whole thing off the engine, it will be difficult to get enough leverage. But it will require you to hit the wrench with a large hammer to spin the nut in a clockwise direction, it will require several heavy hits.

How do i change my fan clutch on my 1994 dodge 250 5.2 liter

Rent a fan clutch removal tool from the parts house. Pull the whole unit out of the truck. There are 4 little bolts holding it on.

2001 blazer hi clutch does the fan clutch come off the big nut

The big nut on the clutch unscrews from the pump. You'll need to get a chain strap wrench to hold the pulley or someway to hold the pulley, and a large wrench to loosen the nut.

How do I change the water pump on a 2004 chevy trailblazer 4.2L?

dont change a water pump unless it is leaking from the pump itself. if your vehicle is overheating check the simple items first. a water pump very rarely goes bad.

Fan removell

The big nut is part of the fan it threads on to the water pump. To remove loosen two of the pulley bolts put a pry bar between these two bolts the use a large wrench on the big nut to thread the fan off the pump. righty tighty, lefty loosey. They also make tools for removing the fan clutch.

1997 jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 liter V8. Water Pump. When I remove the big nut to remove the clutch fan. Will that lose the pulley that's attached to the water pump? I don't see bolts holding pulley wheel to the water pump? Is it pressed on or will it become loose when I remove clutch fan nut?

The big nut spins counter clock wise. you have to put your pulley bolts back on and make sure they are tight. leave belt on so that you have more resistance to pull against when tring to loosen the nut put a bar inbetween the pulley bolts so it won't slip off and then loosen that big nut looking thing and you should have it from there. to the same thing in reverse order to install it
