Question about 1999 Pontiac Montana
The window has 4 tracks that it rides in. One on either side or the front and the back. Then the two tracks that the 3 rollers ride in. The small rollers get worn out. All of this is part of the power window motor assembly. The way to fix the problem is drill out the 4 large pop rivets around the motor. You will have to replace the rivets with bolts and lock nuts. Once you have to rivets removed then pull the motor and arms out. You will see one or more of the rollers have gone bad. You can get a new assembly at a salvage yard. But make sure that the rollers are in good shape. Sometimes also there are rubber tracks on the front and back of the door inside that the window moves up and down in. They look like weather strips. Sometimes they pop out. If this is the case. Just pop them back in. You can use a long flat head screwdriver.
