How do I take the drivers seat out of my 2002 Volkswagen Passat station wagon 1.8t?

Should be two 13mm head nuts under the front center support of the seat. Remove the two plastic track covers behind the seat. Roll seat back, with release pulled. Take care with connectors for seat heaters and airbags.

All of the windows in my 2002 passat have stopped working ,they will not go up or down.sunroof works fine .

Check the fuses. Check for errors in the central locking system. Check the wires in the hinge of the driver's door. There's a ECU under the rug of the driver's seat that, sometimes, gets damaged by water. Check it out.

Our 2002 Volkswagen Passat manual drivers seat will not lock into place. The pull cable does not seem to be retracting .

suggest you use a lubricant such as wd40. you'll need to spray the whole assembly under the seat while working the slide mechanism.it may be broken, but not likely, unless you've heard a loud pop under the seat. it's most likely in need of lubricant as it mat just be stuck inbetween locks. try shaking the seat while pulling the release, this works most of the time. but no matter how it frees up, lubricate it really good. wd40 has an oily smell, so be aware before you spray, the smell will linger for about a week.hope this helps and as always thank you for choosing fixya.com

Sound left forward when crossing any ditches

Your front struts or strut is more than likely not working properly. They "bottom out" on rough roads, but can not hear them on smooth roads. I suggest taking the passat into a mechanic and have him check underneath. You can also do the "bounce" test. Have someone bounce up and down on the front while you sit in the drivers seat.

You should hear the same sound. The vw should also bounce up more than once before settling down.

Good luck

Passat 2002 v6 steering fluid deposit

Oops, sorry about that.....

The power steering fluid reservoir is located just behind the drivers (LHD) headlight, just forward of the washer fluid reservoir.

The reservoir has a green cap on it and a plastic trim panel to conceal the sides, it is circled here:

2003 Volkswagen Passat Center Rear Belt Locked

The fix is:
  • remove the seat bench,
  • unscrew the bolt attaching the seat belt to the body,
  • return the seat back to its upright position and make sure it latches
  • reattach the seat belt
  • replace the seat bench
To prevent this from happening again:
  • Leave the seat belt latch in its receiver when not in use.

2000 passat passenger seat heater stuck on. The control won't turn off heater on seat and now the battery has been drained. Not sure if related or not. How to fix? Can seat heater be disconnected? If so,...

Check the fuse if you've changed the switch. 30 amp in position 44 (very bottom on the right) should be a green fuse. Fuse panel is behind a cover on the drivers side of the dashboard with the car door open. When you put the cover back on be carefull to align the three prongs that hold the cover in place with the slots that they go in.
