Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

1 Answer

Sometimes it will start and sometimes it won't. This happens especially when there is a weather change. Has been taken to several mechanics and they can't find the problem. They think it has something to do with the security system but they are ot sure.

Not sure if this will help, but when you say weather change what do you mean? Rain, cold or ? Anyways, Whatever car it shall be, I have found if you coat the plug boots and the coil boot/ or boots with Di-Electric Grease which can be purchase at a local parts store, this keeps moisture out. When moisture gets in these places it doesn't take much to disperse the spark and cause it not to start. It will not start until it is drier or completely dry depending on what type of ignition you have. Reason I say this is because from experience on VW's and other vehicles that encounter this problem during weather change especially when dew or high humidity is in the air, I have been able to trace down this problem that dealerships were unable to find. Hope this helps and fixes your problem.

It may be a fuel filter issue, or like the mechanics said, fuel pump. It is a fuel injected model, so that may be the issue also.

My ABS warning light is coming on sometimes?

A lot of times it's as simple as a dirty/rusty surface on one or more sensors at the wheels. Does it appear to happen more when wet weather, dirty roads etc? Also did he clean /sandpaper, or steel wool the sensors and wirebrush or whatever the reference points on the wheel do you know? I've seen a quick trip to the carwash, and blast water in behind the wheels, clean them too, especially here in Canada during snow season.
