Question about 1997 Ford Taurus
Well its located on the top side of the engine you should fallow the top heater hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing...you will need to drain down the radiator and remove the top hose from the housing and unbolt the housing and than remove the old thermastat...

Trace the upper radiator hose to the mounting area on the intake manifold. Loosen the hose clamp on the manifold end of the hose and remove the hose. Pull the thermostat out of the intake manifold.
