Are you having problems fitting the caliper over the rotor? take a c clamp and use it to depress the pistons in the caliper this will allow you some moving room to align the bolts to the holes

Adjusting 2007 aveo rear brakes

do not attempt any adjustments. replace the front brakes when they need it. if you try to adjust the proportioning valve you will lock up your back brakes and risk loosing control of your vehicle. you risk ruining the ABS system in your car which will cost you far far more to replace than a cheap set of brake pads. the front brakes do most of the stoping, that is why they wear out much faster than the back brakes. it is VERY IMPORTANT that you DO NOT attempt to adjust your brake proportioning valve.

Where is and how to replace the crank sensor on 2004 chevy aveo.

the crank sensor is on the front side of the car. right under the exhaust manifold, you are going to see to wires plugs under the ignition coil. one is for the o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold and the other one is for the crank sensor. i believe is a number 10 wrench that you need to take lose the bolt, once you take the bolt out you can pull the sensor right out. and put the other one the same way,

Hi, I have a 2006 chevy aveo and I was recently told that I needed to replace the valve cover gasket because it's leaking oil. How do I replace a valve cover gasket on a 2006 chevy aveo? Much...

Its easy. I did mine about a month ago. You need to take off all the bolts on the top part of the motor. there are some tubes on the left side of the motor by pushing them out of the way... you take the old one off and replace it with the new one making sure its aligned and the you put it back on.. the bolts need to be hand tightened kinda as tight as you would do your tires.

How do i change my front brakes ??

take off the wheel there are two bolts on the end of this sliding caliper ...two bolts hold the calipers on the bracket. next you have to push the cylindar back either by clamp or open the bleeder screw half turn push the piston in . check the rubber seal . now install use black synthetic grease on two sliding pins not bolts! ...and lightly i mean lightly coat the back of the pad . this will reduce the record player effect the noise. your disc should be on a lathe or get new ones . i reccomend not pushing the piston in forcing the fluid from the caliper rushing it to the top of the brake system..

This is a notorious Aveo problem, These are poorly made. You need a new thermostat housing it includes the thermost on the 04-05' Aveo. It is all one sealed part from the factory. The original part is made of plastic. Chevy has an aluminum one now that won't break but it's MSRP price from the dealer is $91.78 got one and put it on my mothers car works fine now. So you can't just put a new thermostat in it you need the whole housing which already has the thermo. in it.
