UNLESS YOU ARE A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCED MECHANIC, WITH THE CORRECT TOOLS, I RECOMMEND A COMPETENT SHOP THAT WILL GUARANTEE THE WORK.
OTHERWISE, IT'S RECOMMENDED TO BUY A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL AND FOLLOW THE STEPS EXACTLY-ALSO THERE MAY BE EXACT INSTRUCTIONS ONLINE IF YOU GOOGLE >> CHANGE or REPLACE WATER PUMP DODGE NEON(and engine size)

1997 2.0L oil in water at back of motor and on top of tranny neon

Check to see if there is a plastic "block" on the back side of the engine. It might say something about the thermostate being located inside the water pump on it. You may have a crack in that plastic block. Its difficult to see but if you clean and dry everything off then start the car for just a few minutes you should be able to track down where the water is coming from. Sometimes people think they are seeing tranny fluid when in reality its just the color of the new synthetic antifreeze GM uses

1997 neon, fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

I had a neon that did this in my shop. I found one of the wires to the Oxygen sensors was melted near the exhaust and when you would give it gas the exhaust would flex and short out the o2 sensor.

My car is overheating, I've now noticed the fans do not come on..

Hi. i recommend changing the thermostat as well a s flushing the entire coolant system, The water pump may be a problem spot as well so, i also recommend testing this device to make sure it is functioning properly. The most common solution in this situation, will be replacing the thermostat.

Please rate and have a great day:)
