Question about 2001 Ford Escort ZX2
Make sure the cooling fan is working, if it doesnt cool the condensor the air will get hot, the other thing is to see if its low on freon or if the compressor loses power or the cluth stops turning due to power loss or bad clutch that gets hot.hope this helps, another important thing is theres a vacuum line on the rear of the intake that goes bad the line controls the heat door , start engine and listen for hissing look and feel at rear of intake for a bad hose its a common problem also, take a good look use your hand to move the hoses around to see it they leak vaccum , hope this helps.
