This is a common problem with these cars, if you have the computer scanned and get the codes you will be able to pin point which coil is bad, thats what this codes means, you should have a coil for each cylinder the code should tell you which cylinder the coil is bad in then check that the coil connection is good if it is then replace that coil, heres a diagram to help you. the cylinders are labeled, so if it says cylinder 5 you use the diagram to find cylinder 5, hope this helps.ignition coil d primary/secondary circuit - 5e9a019.jpg

Are you experiencing a missfire along with these codes? The 3.9 v8 are very susceptible to coil problems. Water gets under the coil covers and gets on the coils causing a premature failure. Ford has a redesigned cover and a new gasket for the cowl area to avoid exposure to moisture and future coil failures.

P0354 - Ignition Coil D Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction.

Description of DTC:
The ignition signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module(ECM) is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns ON and OFF the ignition coil primary circuit. This ON/OFF operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

Symptoms:
- Lack/Loss of Power
- The engine may be harder to start
- Engine hesitation
- Check Engine Light On
- No spark

Possible Causes:
- Open or short in the ignition coil circuit
- Ignition coil circuit shorted to ground
- Ignition coil connector
- Damaged ignition coil
- Damaged PCM or ECM

Possible Solutions:
- If damage, repair ignition coil circuit
- Replace ignition coil
- Replace PCM or ECM

Miss fires and stots off when I give it gas as codes 1391 ,0351, 0352, 0353,

P1391 - Not a valid obd code.
B1391 - Oil Level Switch Circuit Failure
C1391 - Not a valid obd code.
U1391 - Not a valid obd code.
Its possible you may have misread this code. If it is B1391 that would be the only code with 1391 for your vehicle.

P0351 - Ignition Coil A Primary / Secondary Circuit Malfunction. The ignition signal from the Powertrain Control Module or Electronic Control Module is sent to and amplified by the power transistor. The power transistor turns ON and OFF the ignition coil primary circuit. This ON/OFF operation induces the proper high voltage in the coil secondary circuit.

Possible Causes:
- Open or short in the ignition coil circuit
- Ignition coil circuit shorted to ground
- Ignition coil connector
- Damaged ignition coil
- Damaged PCM

P0352 - Ignition Coil B Primary / Secondary Circuit Malfunction.
Same repair info as P0351.

P0353 - Ignition Coil C Primary / Secondary Circuit Malfunction.
Same repair info as P0351

Solutions:
- If damage, repair ignition coil circuit
- Replaced ignition coil
- Replaced
PCM or ECM

How to replace ignition coil code P0355

Hi. P0355....Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction would suggest you need to replace your coil packs. Heat damages them after time and will eventually lead to misfire and very rough running motor especially when it's damp out.

The wiring may be bad to the cylinder, but changing the coil position and getting same code means that the coil itself is not bad.
