I had misfire on cylinder 3 and i had to change the connection rod bearings, extremely hard to do unless you have the proper tools because you need to remove the oil pan to get to it. take to mechanic

If you want to tune the timing for performance, use a degree timing light. Find the straight mark on the harmonic balancer. On the timing cove is a tab or it may have a aftermarket timing mark bolted to the timing cover. With the vacume advance unpluged from the distributor and the vacume line plugged (to prevent a lean condition).
Use the trottle and rev engine to 1500 rpms. Set the timing light to 32 degrees and adjust distributor until the marks on the harmonic balancer and the zere mark on the tab align. Tighten distrubutor clamp and recheck one more time.
