Question about 2001 Toyota Tundra

1 Answer

I need to know if there is an after market wiring harness for my 2001 toyota tundra and also what the OEM part number would be. I need the pigtail harness that connects to each of the rear taillights, brake lights and signals on the truck. This harness ultimately connects to a trailer wiring harness. the snap connectors have all corroded and do not properly ground.

Could not find that specific wiring harness on ebay and have only been able to find the rear light assembly with the wiring socket that goes to this pigtail harness.
    any other ideas

I do not need the trailer wiring harness, I need the wiring harness for the rear lights that connects to the towing harness.
Toyota told me they discontinued it and my truck is only a 2001. They also told me there were none at any of the dealers in the US. they told me to take it to an automotive electrician.

    Thanks

You don't need the OEM part, Go to ebay and find one, or any parts store. I bought one for my truck, worked great. It has all the little electronic gizmos on it you need to blink with. Snaps right in the sockets, and no wire cutting. Check it out.

How to change crankshaft sensor on a 2001 cad catiera

Its on the side of the block firewall side ... REMOVAL Numbers in text in parenthesis correspond to numbered components in image. Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor pigtail. Securely attach a scrap piece of wire about 36 inches long to the CKP sensor pigtail. Later, this piece will be used as a pull wire to guide the new sensor pigtail back through the same routing. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil filter and capture any lost engine oil in a container. Loosen the oil cooler lines at the engine block. Back out the fittings far enough in order to gain sufficient clearance for the sensor pigtail connector to pass between the oil cooler lines and the side of the engine block. Remove the fastening bolt for the CKP sensor (1). Remove the CKP sensor and the O-ring seal from the engine block. Remove the CKP sensor pigtail. Observe the routing of the pigtail. Gently pull the CKP sensor pigtail down through the routing path and out. Guide the pigtail connector along the top of the oil cooler lines around to the side of the engine block. Pass the connector between the lines and the block at the point of the widest gap. Stop when the pull wire is exposed at both ends of the routing path. Disconnect the sensor from the pull wire. INSTALLATION Securely attach the CKP sensor pigtail to the lower end of the pull wire. Pass the pigtail connector between the oil cooler lines and the engine block. Using the pull wire as a guide, pull the sensor pigtail along the top of the oil cooler lines and around to the rear of the engine. Use the pull wire to pull the pigtail into position. Disconnect the pull wire from the sensor pigtail. Connect the sensor pigtail to the harness connector. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the CKP sensor and the engine block. Install the CKP sensor with a new O-ring seal into the engine block. Install the fastening bolt (1) for the CKP sensor. Check the harness for proper routing. Make sure that the wiring cannot come in contact with the exhaust manifold. Tighten the oil cooler lines at the engine block. Install the oil filter. Lower the vehicle. Recheck the engine oil level.

How to upgrade you're 2001 mazda tribute taillights to 2005 mazda taillights

Go to you're local dealer and purchase the circular tail lights with pigtails ,remove you're old squared taillights ,make sure you number you're pigtails on both tail light wire harnesses so you won't loose track of what wire goes with which wire. Use a wire cutter to splice the 2001 pigtails individually ,do the same for the 2005 tail light . Using connectors, place the wires together ,according to the matching numbers on the wires you have placed. Crimp the commectors and wrap with electrical tape, insert the light back in place and you have 2005 tail light upgrade.

Make sure when you purchase the bulbs you ask for 2005 taillight bulbs.

My taillight wiring is melted and i need to know what i need to replace them?i have a 1994 toyota camry and yesterday the tail lights caught on fire. about two weeks ago my right rear parking light went...

you have a very serious electrical short and need to first find out where the short is. Then rewire the circuit. Not a job for an amateur. Take it to a Certified Mechanic,

2001 Olds Aurora 3.5L: Oil pressure switch wire harness is stripped from switch. How do I replace wire/where do I get "pigtail" to jump to main engine harness?

You can sometimes get replacement connectors with pigtails at auto parts stores but the easiest way is to bring your VIN number to a GM dealer and get one there. Most connectors are available and having a VIN number along helps the parts guy get the correct one. Usually the new wires are plenty long and give you a little room to work with when splicing them into the harness. I use crimp type connectors and then wrap the connectors with electrical tape to protect the new connections from the elements. If the insulation has just pulled back away from the connector and the wires and connector are good yet [just bare] then you may be able to save the connector by coating the bare wires with liquid tape then carefully wrapping the individual wires with a layer of electrical tape after the liquid tape has fully dried.

A c not blowing hot or cold air

The wire harness is know to melt in your Yukon, there is a wire harness upgrade that GM has in there parts department to address your Blower motor issues. This harness has been updated to address the failures in the original (OEM) harness and previous versions of the AC Delco PT2195 pigtail and GM 15862656 pigtail. All wire gauge sizes have been upgraded to easily handle the current demands of the Blower Motor at all speeds. Heavy duty 12 ga. wires for the 12v power, ground (-) and the high blower circuit.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.

Not a bad deal for $55, and it's all plug and play.
