The system is lubricated internally by a mix of oil in the refrigerant. There in no external maintenance required.

The air compressor is on that drive belt if you are getting a bad noise when the air is turned on you probaly need to replace the unit. You can try adding air compessor oil to the system and it may help.

It would be a gamble, you could get a good one but you do not know if it is OK until it is fitted or tested before fitting unless you can get a guarantee from the junk yard..

Use your dip stick. My Snapon a/c repair kit came with two dip sticks. There might even be more now. any auto parts store will have the oil in stock. When i ask the napa store to bring me some, it came in a qt bottle. With oz marks on the side. I sure hope i was of some help to you. Sawdust

Describe your 1996 Chevrolet Cavamy cavalier ac broke i check with a mechanic the fuse, relay, ac switch button inside the car,low line valve is full of refant liguad, but i noticed that the raditor fan...

there are pressures sensors on the a/c lines for low and high side pressure. if the high side pressure exceeds a certain high, or the low side doesn't have a minimum, then the pump and fan will shut off. if you took the vehicle to a mechanic and he only checked the low side pressure, then you are taking your rig to the wrong mechanic. anyone with proper knowledge of a/c systems would have the tools and know how to tell you exactly what was causing your issue withing about 20 minutes of diagnostics at the most.
