Get the fuel pressure checked. If the fuel pressure is low then the problem is related to faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter. Check your fuel flow also, Your fuel filter might be clogging up. Also make sure your getting spark at all spark plugs. If not getting then the spark plugs needs to be checked. Also sounds like a vacuum leak to me.Check the vacuum lines and the vacuum hoses and its connections.Check out if the car idles fine then its not vacuum leak. Then the problem is related to faulty accelerator pump.If all checked ok then the problem is with the MAF sensor. The mass air flow sensor is faulty. The mass airflow sensor measures the air going into the engine, and the ECM uses that signal to decide what to do with the fuel, timing, etc.
If that sensor is coated with dust, which they tend to do, the signal is inaccurate, or at least slow.
Locate the air filter box and air tube. It is on the driver's side just behind the headlight assembly. The MAF sensor is located in the center of the air tube which is connected to itself in sections by band clamps. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. Car loses power when I step down kn the gas pedal'to get speed to get on a exit%2K it even cuts off on me sometimes, and I have to pull over

Check the codes guess is the common problem...the mass air flow meter (MAF) or (MAP) may want to get a used one if that is the issue as the new ones are quite expensive. I have a 92 Bonneville and it has the 3.8, like your Buick, and that was my cars problem. Near $ 200 new, and $ 35 used...spray the 3 bolts on the throttle body with PB Bl;aster a day before you want to do this job so the bolts will be loose. The throttle body is cast aluminum and the bolts are stainless and always corode in careful...and put antiseize on them when reinstalling. It may have to relearn the new signals and you may have to have the garage reset the check engine light once you repair this. Good Luck !
