Trace the 2 aluminum lines coming out of the firewall. The one that goes to the compressor has the low pressure port you are looking for. It might be on the dryer (silver cylinder).

SOURCE: Searching for the location of

The low pressure port in the AC system is between the evaporator which is in the heater/AV housing in the dash. The line between that part and the compressor is the low pressure or suction line. You should find a connector in that line that has a cap on it. When you take the cap off, it is a snap on quick disconnect with a "tire stem valve" in it. Be sure to screw the cap back on with you are finished.

I have a 04 Monte Carlo ss and need to add ac charge. Is the low side port along the firewall or the one that sits by the air cleaner?

The Air Conditioning Ports (High Side and Low Side) are different Sizes.

The High Side is Larger and RED
The Low Side is Smaller and Blue

ALWAYS FILL on the LOW SIDE

Trying to locate low pressure side of a/c to add R134A on a 1999 monte carlo. I have two ports....one is top of the other..the top one points straight up and the one beneath it is at an angle. they are...

If you buy a recharge can from your local auto parts store the connector will only fit on the high side. It is usually bigger then the low side so the connector will only clip onto the high side connector.

Searching for low-side port to recharge AC on 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo

hello dsouris: Locate the A/C accumulator on the left inner fender well. This will be a round aluminum cylinder with two lines coming out of it. Follow the large line that runs back to the firewall. You should see a shadder valve in this line. This will be the suction line or low side line. This will be the line used to charge the A/C system. If you need further help please just ask. If this information please rate the information as it helps.Thank You for using FixYa. Roger
