The tensioner can be replaced as just the pulley, by removing the center bolt on this pulley, to release thee tension loosen center bolt then loosentension bolt on top of the bracket.

It would if there are 2 belts or more present. If it's a one belt setup it has one tensioner. Are you having trouble replacing a belt. Most auto parts stores will print you a belt diagram free of charge. Hope this helps. Chris

How do i replace serpentine belt on 1997 jeep wrangler

Adjustment is made by loosening the power steering pump. There is a transverse long bolt (jack bolt) right under the pump that is used for adjustment.

Can not get the serpentine belt loose or off my 98 jeep wrangler???

Look for the belt tensioner. On some models, all that is required is to use a socket and ratchet to lift the tensioner. SInce your vehicle is a 98 model, the tensioner should be an automatic type that just lifts up. If that is the case, then lift up the tensioner to remove and to replace the belt.

Where is the serpentine belt tensioner on a 1999 jeep wrangler with A/C?

most have a "jack screw" under the power steering pump. You loosen the pump mount bolts and adjust the screw underneath to tighten or loosen it.

Does the 1991 Wrangler 4.0L have a self tensioner

Sounds like you have all the info you need but are afraid to try the job. Look under the P/S pump and you should see a bolt that runs under it (left to right). You don't loosen the pump pulley, but actually you loosen the pump itself. Loosening the bolt underneath will remove tension from the belt, tightening it will restore tension, but only after loosening the two bolts that allow the pump to slide back and forth on the mount bracket. Make sure you know where the belt goes before taking it off (draw a picture if you need to) and, remember it is very easy to overtighten it. after installing, belt should have about a half inch of deflection. Check this befrore starting and again after about an hour of running.

Should be the pulley underneath the power steering pulley. Loosen the nut, then back the bolt down the loosen the belt, tighten the bolt to tighten belt.
