Hi,

Taking out the cluster is not a real big job.Pop off the outer bezel & you will see the screws around the edge that hold in the IPC.Remove those & unplug it.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

    Hi
Remove the "wood Grain" (Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate) on the drivers side by just pulling it out (may have a HUD switch there??)
Open the glove box door, and there should be 2 screws (7mm) holding the passenger side (long) "wood Grain" (Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate) in.]
    Then.....
Raise the tilt steering column to the highest position.
Remove the 2 fasteners holding in the Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster Trim Plate Bezel.
Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.
Disengage the 4 clips across the top edge, and the 4 clips across the bottom edge that retain the I/P cluster trim plate to the I/P by gently pulling toward the rear of the vehicle.
    Set the parking brake.
Move the gear selector lever to the L1 position.
Tilt the top of the bezel rearward in order to remove.

Could be an Instrument cluster failure. It's a common problem in 1990 Rivieras. I suggest you take it to an auto mechanic that specializes in electronics.

How to remove radio panel on 1984 Buick Riviera

The factory radios usually have 4 small holes. Two on either side of the front radio panel. There is a tool that you can get from a parts store for just a couple of bucks that you insert into the for holes at the same time.(There are two U shaped tools, one for each side) When you push them in it will release the pin holds and you can slide out the radio.

How do you remove the center console for a 1990 buick riviera? I have removed all visible screws and bolts but, the console that is closest to the dash won't budge.

The console snaps in place and the screws holds it in place to keep it from falling out. Just pull kind of hard maybe starting in one corner and when that comes loose you can see how it comes out.

Driver window on 1990 Buick Riviera will not go all the way down

Take off the door panel. Then you will see a clear plastic covering over the metal of the door. Carefully remove the plastic. Look for the window regulator. My car had two bolts missing and the third one was very loose. I used an awl to hold the regulator in place. After that I replaced the missing bolts and tightened the last bolt. I tested it before I put everything back together.

How to remove 1990 xj6 radio

You must open the center console lid and remove the 2 Phillips head screws above the fuse station to expose the ashtray Phillips head screws.Remove the ashtray screws and carefully pull he ashtray back towards the center console. After the ashtray is removed take your hand an feel under the wood grain unit for the 2 plastic wing nuts holding the wood grain in place. Remove them and gently lift the wood grain up and out of the way. Remove the 4 Phillips head screws holding the AC controls and Radio bracket. Place the gear shifter in drive to pull the whole unit out. Sounds like a lot but takes about 10-15 mins to complete.
