SOURCE: My temperature gauge reads low, even to the point

check to see if you have voltage at the wire that connects to gauge, then check for continuity on gauge terminals to see if it's ok. almost sounds like it might be the gauge

SOURCE: Engine Coolant Temperature Gage

I have a 2006 and had the same problem. The car was still under warranty, so I took it in for repair. Several times. They finally replaced the thermostat and that solved the issue. Try that.

Good luck and please let me know how it works out for you.

The heat of the engine heats the car. If the engine is cold, cold air should come out. If its warm, warm air shoult come out!

The radiator fan on my MAN TGA 33.480 2007 does not turn when the engin is idling. Engin starts and runs smoothly with no strange noises

The fan comes on after the engine is at normal or above normal operating temperatures(200 to 225 degrees). Or if the A/C is turned on. If it is not overheating, I wouldn't worry about it.

is the car overheating or running hotter than normal? it could be the coolant temperature switch not working. it could also be something as simple as a relay in the fuse box

You probably need to check your anti freeze level. That happened to me as well, and all it took was to fill up the anti freeze. Hope this is of use to you!

Engine light comes on

Hi there!

P1299 Cylinder head over temperature protection active.

I would want to know why this is overheating. It could be a fuel issue, timing is too advanced (due to faulty sensors) or just a duff temperature sensor itself.

Needs investigation though as performance will be affected.

(If this assists in a solution, please rate as Fixya! Thanks.)
