check the fuses under the dash. if they are good then remove a reverse bulb and using a test light check ground and power at the socket, if you have no ground then you will have to fix the ground circuit. if you have no power then you will have to check the neutral switch to see if you have power going to it and out if not, then you will have to replace the neutral switch if you have no power going out. if you have no power going in then you will have to check the wiring to the switch from the fuse. if you have power going out of the neutral switch to the rear lights then you will have to check for a damaged wire going from the switch to the socket.

If you have an engine code and you repair the part, you have to have the computer reset or it will still think the part is bad even if it is new. Have to have an obd2 scanner hooked up to reset the system
if the alarm/immobiliser could be bypassed the thieves would have it away in no time....you will have to buy a new remote and have it coded to the car.....
Try having the electronic ignition control module checked...Also timing belt may have jumped a notch..they will stretch over time and skip a notch or two throwing it out of time.
Could be a warped brake rotor. Have the rotors checked for wear and if they are within tolerance, have them resurfaced.
If they are beyond wear tolerance, replace the brake rotors.
You said you replaced the tires. Did you have all the wheels balanced?? Might want to check this also.
Do you have a check engine light? Do you have a NA or a Turbo? Have you checked the air box and or air meter to see if critters have moved in? Have you checked the Idle air bypass valve? Have you Joined the MR2OC.com and used the online big green book to troubleshoot?
