Solenoid fuse or wiring. Try shorting hot wire on starter to solenoid terminal to see if it will crank. if yes, trace back solenoid wire to find open.

Charged my battery when I try to install cables on battery the starter fires, no key in ignition.

are you charging battery with the battery still connected to the vehicle. ??. you can only use trickle chargers to charge battery, and that depends on your vehicle specs, putting a charger on a no compatible system you will fry the engine management unit. if charging a battery you need to remove the leads as a battery charger can give out 20v and the system can only manage around 14 to15v any higher and damage will be done.

Unfortunately, old wires break. I always tell people this. That way I am not stuck with fixing for free.

Pontiac Bonneville Wont start and charge after i changed alternator

Check the wire from alternator to fuse box for a bad wire or a break in it. or corrosion on it. Battery cables loose or corroded. Is the battery ok!! check the main fuses in under hood fuse box. Good-Day! The charging wire goes to the fuse box first.

1998 Ranger No crank no start.turn key I hear a click then nothing lights up until i disconncet battery.connect battery try again dash lights on radio on dome light on roll key to start click nothing?

Hey Ray sounds like starter selonoid look on fire wall it will have a cable coming from battery and on other side a cable going to starter , with the key on ,in netural use a jump wire to touch each of the cables (the one from the battery and the one going to starter) ,if it cranks and or starts that's your problem and its easy to change . if not sure of wiring take a photo of them .

Battery terminal wires are catching on fire. What do I do?

The short answer is the cable got too hot. Why is another matter.
The cable could be touching a metal object and shorting to ground, or the starter could be pulling too many amps thru the cable.

Battery and fuses , No problem for the solenoid and starter if the wiring inside the vehicle have not been disturbed . Jus replace the battery or charge it up . and get ur blown up fuses changed ,

96 ford explorer wont start. all power when turn key. nothing.

if it turns over from below, then its in the ignition switch and this also feeds power to the e.c.m. to make the engine fire so you either have a bad switch contact or the hot 12 volt wire to the ignition switch

Changed the starter on 1990 pathfinder, may have crossed wires, which wire goes where on solinoid. Bratt

There should be wire from the solenoid to the starter, usually a black earth cable, one from solenoid to positive from battery, and one to the ignition(a signal wire) there really are only the two possible connections once you have the solenoid's earth connected to the starter. Good luck mate, hope that helps!
