Where do add transmission fluid in a 2003 pontiac sunfire

the red cap on top of the transmission..best to take it to a mechanic so you don't over fill...since theres no dip stick to check.

What is the easiest way to change the neutral safety switch on a 99 sunfire?

Take it to a shop where they can put it on a lift - the park/neutral switch is located on the left side of the transmission. You could crawl under the car, disconnect the wiring connector, remove the old switch, and reverse the process for the new one...but it's a tight squeeze under there unless you put the car on ramps or jackstands.

I have a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire. Transmission is going out I think. When I put it into reverse it's sometimes goes into reverse and sometimes doesn't but I hear a loud knock. fluid is right and not...

putting it into a gear and hearing a knock indicates that the engine mounts or transmission mounts are broken
naturally if you put it in neutral it will not move as that what neutral is
perhaps the neutral position needs adjusting as it may still be in drive
have the fault codes read to determine any sensor/servo/solenoid faults before spending big money on a transmission

My 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT 2.4L Automatic Gear Selector is broken

you car likely thinks its stuck in reverse, which it may be... even if you can roll it. you'll need to find a way to either get it into park or neutral, normally this can be done by the actual linkages under the shift console or from underneath the car.

The exterior back-uplamps are not coming on. I checked the fuses and changed the bulbs ,no power is getting to lights.

It's probably the switch that is triggered when the car is put in reverse. Usually it's on the transmission in a manual car. On an automatic it can be on the transmission or under the shifter console. They're inexpensive and pretty easy to replace.

2004 pontiac sunfire won't drive forward but goes

That would be your transmission. The only way to fix it is to have it rebuilt or buy new, both are around the same price sometimes. Sorry to hear your troubles.

1997 pontiac sunfire GT Transmission problem?

If you have a Manual transmittion it sounds as if your clutch has just about had it. If your vehical is an automatic more then likely the trans is slipping
