Question about GMC Sonoma
P0442 - Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Small Leak Detected. In this instance first thing I would check is the gas cap to make sure its tight and the seal that meets up with the filler neck is not cracked.Rust built up on the filler neck can sometimes cause a poor seal.

On my second gas cap in a year and a half. A new cap fixes the problem for a while. but am tired of spending $100 to the dealer each time I get a service engine light to find out the code. They tell me it could be anything and I feel they get me into the panic mode because you need your car to run right and I have no way to figure these things out. If there way a way to find out the codes without going to the dealer I'd jump on it.
