Question about 1996 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

My wife had bought this car for a new job i am getting while i was out of town. It drove good at first then my battery light and abs light came on. when i hit the gas my digital display for miles would go out and my rpm's and speed would go all the way up. When i let off the gas everything would go back to normal. Also when i hit the gas my airconditioning fan would blow much stronger. Then today it died on me. When i got back home i noticed that my 25 amp engine fuse was blown. So I went and got more kept the battery dissconnected and put it back in. The second i turned the key the fuse would blow again.I also noticed that their were three sets of wires that go to the negative battery terminal, and two that go to the posotive. Is that normal? They were wrapped in duct tape and i can't imagine that is good. Don't have much money at all and really need to fix this myself but i am not a mechanic. I am good with electronics i change my plugs brakes oil ect. so if someone could please help it would be greatly appreciated. It does have a new battery and alternator....

Please do not give me any bad or good credit.
I would check the battery first. Voltage would be 12.6V or more with engine off, and 14 V or more with engine on. If you have a bad battery please replace it. I would drive the car at AutoZone, for a Code Scan test. It is free and you will get a print out with code explanation for free too. If this won't help send the car at chrysler diler for a check and advice ONLY. You will get a print out explaining the problem, parts and labor for $65 to $100 only.
I'm a car dealer and in similar cases we send cars there. They have thousands dollars diagnostic systems that small dealers cannot afford. I am not helping you. I am advising you.

Abs light on anf off after rear brake job. Today

Not a booster problem. what bad noises? abs problmes wont make noises, unless its the pump operating. ck the mushy pedal, that will maybe fix all problems. I dont think its related to the 2/4wd lights?

MAKE SURE YOUR CAR BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR IS IN GOOD OPERATION.HAVE THEM TESTED.I HAVE SEEN A CAR WITH ABS AND AMPS LIGHTS ON.THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT PUTTING OUT ENOUGH VOLTS TO RUN THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM. IF ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY IS GOOD.I WOULD REPLACE THE ABS RELAY FIRST.ITS GOES BAD CAUSE THE ABS BRAKES NOT TO WORK.IF ABS RELAY IS GOOD.THEN IT HAS TO BE ABS MODULE GOING BAD.IT HAS TO BE REPLACED.
