Question about 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

All of the brake lights went out except for the right one and so I repleaced the bulbs. After replacing the bulbs the same light was the only light that would work. I don't know if it could be a fuse problem or what. Any suggestions?

Check the fuses for sure, but sounds more like an electrical problem.use a multimeter to check the light sockets and to probe the wires for voltage.some of those sockets get moisture in them and corrode the contacts which makes it overheat and then it will either expand the socket or warp it.

2000 Acura 3.5 RL suddenly has no tail lights or tag lights. Brake, reverse and blinker all work. Checked fuses-all appear fine. Decided to replace bulbs and noticed front right marker light out so changed...

The only thing that both the brake lights and tail lights use is a ground connection. Keep in mind the warning light on the dash may be for any exterior lamp. You may need to check the sockets and grounds on all four corners of the car.

Brake lights do not turn on

Sounds like you may need to replace brake bulb terminals they do get wore out were the bulb goes in easy to replace so new terminals easy to splice with wire splice kits don't twist and tape do this with splice kits or you will be always repairing take time do it right

Brake lights are staying on constentily except in park

Also check the light bulbs in the 3rd brake light. If they are out (burned out or removed) the brake lights will remain on. I found this out by trial and error. I replaced the brake switch, tested voltages also and everyone told me that the 3rd brake lights should have nothing to do with it. But the do, don't know how or why, ford dealer wanted to charge me $86 for diagnositcs and $70 for complete 3rd brake assembly. Went to Napa and got bulbs for $5.00 (5 bulbs) and everything works now. Also this causes the cruse control not to work.

Don't take shortcuts with auto repairs. The work for now bulb may have caused a problem like a short. Check the brake light switch and test all brake light bulbs.

Check the brake light switch located under the dash, and is energized by depressing the brake pedal.

Brake lights not working

pretty common issue with the Tahoe/Yukon is the bulb holder...mine both went out at the same time as well...you can buy the bulb holder at any parts store, most have these on hand. They hold all 3 bulbs (lights, brakes/turn signal) and are a simple replace...most likely will fix your problem!
