Seat belt flashing has nothing to do with the starting ,sorry but you will have to go to a dealer to have the software read correctly ,yes its american built vehicle that can be read with a reader for the emmisions test ,but the rest of it is encrypted for sure and the newer the vehicle the higher the encryption ,and if it was a europeon market model then i cannot even read the vin number let alone the emmisions test ,just reads cannot connect to vehicle .

2004 escape. want to move manual passenger seat forward 6" to carry a load that is 78" long. with seat at maximum forward position, can only get 72".

The seat only goes as far as it goes. If yo need more room than your only other option is to remove the seat or recline the seat back and hope the load will fit over the seat.

My seat belt lights will not shoot while drive after we click on our seat belts what can I check

there is a way to do it on older dodges 1999 models , this is how I remember it ,it may also be in your car manual in glove compartment , with vehicle stopped and off turn key all the way off to all the way on (not starting motor) 3 times then from drivers seat only clip and lock seat belt then unlock 3 times and leave it in wait 20 seconds and see if it worked, ,you may have to repeat this more than once, or try it the same way but at the end leave belt un clipped , I know it sounds crazy ,but is the best I can do.if this helped please let me know ,thanks .

2003 ford escape seat belt warnign light

Probably no need to see an expensive mechanic. My seat belt warning light came on a few days ago when there were four people in the car and the rear seat belts weren't fastened (I thought that was why it lit up). However, the light came on and stayed on when I was the only person in the car. Logically, it suggested a bad connection somewhere, so I checked the connector under the passenger seat and made sure it was properly fastened together. I then sprayed a small amount of WD40 into the female clasps of both front seat belt connectors, clipped and unclipped the belts a few times and the light is now fine. Try it - it worked for my 2003 Escape.

Check under the seat for a wiring harness being loose due to recent cleaning or getting wet with window down during a rain.

We have a 2001 V4 Ford Escape, and while driveing today the seatbelt light began to rapidly flash. The owners manual does not have any indication as to what this means, and the seatbelt for the driver was...

There is a TSB to replace chafed wires on the seat belt pretensioners. Most common cause.
Both front seats have to be removed to perform the TSB. It involves replacing the male and female connector to the seat belt buckle pretensioner. In an accident, it fires and temporarily tightens the seat belt to take up slack. I think TSB 05-17-5.

Airbag light has started flashing then came on this is the first time we have had an issue with this. after flashing the light stays on.

get the code, but my guess is it\'s the seat belt pre-tensioner connectors. There is a TSB to replace them on both seats at the same time. Not a recall so not covered under warranty. Please rate highly if this helps.
TSB 05-17-11
RESTRAINT SYSTEM - SAFETY BELT BUCKLE AND PRETENSIONER DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) B1877 AND/OR B1881
FORD:
2001-2004 Escape

This article supersedes TSB 04-24-4 to update the service procedure.
ISSUE:
Some 2001-2004 Escape vehicles may exhibit an intermittent air bag lamp on and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1877 and/or B1881. This may be caused by a variation in the electrical continuity between the pins of the driver and/or passenger side wiring harness and the buckle pretensioner connector. If this condition were to occur, the air bag system remains fully functional.

ACTION:
Install a replacement harness connector kit ON BOTH the driver and passenger safety belt buckle pretensioners, even if the DTC is present for only one side. The kit includes improved connector halves to replace the existing connectors on both the body harness and the safety belt buckle pretensioner.
One kit is required per side (2 kits per vehicle). Refer to the instruction sheet included in the kit for complete repair procedure.

What is the schedule replacement mileage for a 2003 Ford Escape Timing Chain

If your car has a chain there is not a scheduled replacement. A timing chain should last as long as the engine. No need to replace the chain. Now things can happen such as a guide wearing out or a drive / driven gear wears out, then a chain should be replaced. You do not need to replace a chain under normal usage. *** Now the 2000 - 2004 Escape with a 2.0L (4 cylinder) does have a BELT and yes, belts should be changed (Ford recommends) every 60,000 miles or 7 years which ever comes first.

Whenever I drive over bumps it makes noises sounds

It could be your stabilizer bar end link. There common to make noise when the bushings wear out, inspect the end links and replace if needed. You can pick up a up graded end link with urethane bushings that last a life time of the car. They go for around $34.00 for both sides at Part Source. Good luck and keep me posted.
