You will need to give the model and year to get this answer. generally the positive battery cable attaches to one large terminal, the starter cable goes to the other one, and the small wire goes to the "I" terminal, any other small wire will go one the other (if any)

Where is the overdrive solenoid located on my 2001 Buick park avenue? I have the transmission pan off , can i put that back on and still put the solenoid? i would like a diagram of where it is located

You will need to pull off the side pan cover thats where the overdrive solenoid is located, lets see if i can get you a diagram to help you loacte it.i will tell you that there are two shift solenoid to control the gears and overdrive, there have been problems with jerking in overdrive this is due to the tcc solenoid and wiring harness and also the computer must be reflashed, dealer has update shifting and thats a must, i would replace that as far as the overdrive solenoid here are diagrams. the computer uses the shift solenoid with the pressure solenoid to control the overdrive i have circled the solenoid to replace , as theres not just one to control overdrive i have listed the one that control it .hope this helps.johnjohn2_161.gifjohnjohn2_162.gifjohnjohn2_163.gif

Need diagram for installing syinoyed in n2002 chevy silverodo in transmion overdrive sylinoyed and 3 to 4th sylanoyed the truck is 1500 hd

You keep asking for a diagram and I dont think that is what you need.If you have a no overdrive condtion sometimes then you likely do not have a bad solenoid. If one of the shift solenoids was bad you would be missing 2 gears such as 1st and 3rd or 2nd and fourth. If you can give me a little more info I can most likely save you time, money and grief.Only trying to help.

My 1995 Thunderbird has a problem with the solenoid in the starter motor. Occasionally the car will not turn over. Male friends have come and hit the solenoid and it works fine for months and then will...

Forget the hitting the starter solenoid

Remove the starter from car and install a new solenoid on it

The contacts inside the solenoid are burn't

I have the solenoid switch but i dont know how to change it. to a ford expidition 2000 5.4l

it will be located near the battery, follow the positive battery cable to the solenoid, disconnect the negative(black) battery cable first. remove the wires from the old solenoid, remove the bolts the hold the solenoid to the firewall or fender wall, install new solenoid into place then reconnect the wires. last reconnect negative battery cable & test repairs. make diagrams & mark wires as needed to avoid other problems

Subaru ea81 starter solenoid wiring diagram

Some starter solenoids are mounted on the fender near the battery and some are on the starter itself.

Typically the ones mounted on the fender have two larger posts and one smaller post. For the larger posts: One connects strait to the positive post on the battery. The other connects strait to the starter. The smaller post connects to the neutral safety switch which connects to the start position of the ignition switch. Here is a diagram. Make sure the solenoid is grounded good.

For the solenoid that is mounted on the starter: Connect the positive post of the battery to the large post on the starter. Connect smaller neutral safety switch/ignition switch wire to the smaller post.

Here is a diagram if you have both solenoids

Don't forget to hook backup any other wires that were hooked to the positive side of battery/solenoid like alternator wire etc.
