Should be located right on the steering pump itself which is operated by the belt....Hope this helps.

It's possible you overfilled the power steering reservoir or perhaps spilled some that leaked down on the exhaust manifold. That would cause a lot of smoke until it burned off.

What is the proper brake bleeding sequence on a 1984 king cab pickup

always start with the bleeder with the shortest line to the master cylinder.(it is usually front drivers side) then the next longest (usually pass. front) then the rears. good luck, hope this helps.
