Check fuel pump 1st, should here it hum for a few seconds when you turn the key to ON (not starting). A bad crankshaft position sensor will cause a no start, yours may have a camshaft sensor as well. ECM needs both to run engine. Does the CEL come on for a few seconds like the other warning lights when you turn the key to ON? If not ECM is dead, shorted out or ground/power is gone to it. Check each spark plug and the wires. If spark is ok on for each plug, fuel pump comes on, I would look at the injectors but usually you get a stall as one goes bad. If those are ok then replace the crankshaft sensor but keep in mind the ECM might be fried.

Bought new starter, put on now car won't start with key ignition. Started before new starter?? Could starter be bad or solenoid? Can start by touching solenoid & positive in starter

It sounds to me like you have a bad solenoid, If the solenoid was on the starter when you bought it I would go and get another starter. Otherwise just replace the solenoid.

07 ram 5.7 No start 1 click Battery cleaned charged up tried on boost - still 1 click . New starter- ran Jumper wire to starter from battery- 1 click. What can it be ?

If the battery connections at the starter are secure it is likely the solenoid is defective on the new starter.

When attempting to start monitor the battery voltage. If the voltage only changes sightly still above 12 volts it is likely that the starter motor is not getting power. Confirm that the starter solenoid is being powered when attempting to start.

If
  • all battery connections to the starter are secure
  • and power is applied to the starter solenoid
  • and no crank above 12 volts
these combined conditions will confirm that the new starter is defective.

I start the car in the morning and drived it had no problem later i tried to start it did not start i tried jumper start it d id not work after 2days i tried to start it start l do not know what is wrong...

Could be battery or more likely it needs a new starter. The starter has nothing to do with care safety. Buy a new starter not rebuilt or junkyard started. Labor for new starter or maybe starter is the same. You might get lucky and rebuilt starter lasts but it doesn't the labor is paid again.

Car wont start has charged battery lights and radio come on new starter. drainging battery even though the battery is fully charged its reading its not tempature gauge reading hot but its not runn

If the problem began when (or soon after) installing the new starter, start checking there. Ensure that all cables to the starter are tight. As a second possibility, if the new starter was actually a rebuilt replacement, the solenoid could be faulty. (I went through three rebuilt starters on my son's truck until we got one that worked properly.)

My 87 jeep starter stays ingaged when I try to start it

needs shimmed or the bendix is bad in the starter and not allowing to release. most likely just needs shimmed if it's a new starter, however you can get a bad starter (new or rebuilt)

Starter drags???

it sounds like the new starter is faulty , I would suggest having it checked by a service shop or a starter rebuild shop, most parts supply stores dont charge for this test but you will have to remove the starter from the truck.
