Hi, on the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

My 2003 toyota echo passinger side mirror will not adjust it just falls forward. It is the type that is manual but has an adjustment knob inside the car. How do I replace it? The whole unit?

It sounds like you may have to replace the entire unit. There are rods inside the housing that connect to the back of the mirror itself. These rods are what allows you to control the mirror and are also what's suppose to keep the mirror stationery. It sounds like the clips have separated.

Once you've purchased a replacement mirror glass based on your specific make, model and year simply follow the steps below:

  • Remove all existing glass from the mirror head's plastic inner platform (backing plate).
  • Clean backing plate with rubbing alcohol. Clean back of replacement mirror with Burco Window Glo® or other glass cleaner.
  • Apply the Burco Redi Stick® adhesive patches and or silicone/urethane to the replacement mirror's back or to the backing plate itself.
  • Align and press replacement mirror to the backing plate.
  • Clean the installed Burco Redi Cuts® mirror with Burco Window Glo® or other urethane-safe glass cleaner.

I need to replace the mirror glass on a 1994 camry driver side p

Start with a good thick pair of leather gloves, a putty knife, and a tall trash can. Place the trash can below the mirror, tilt the mirror inward so you get a hold of the outer edge, and carefully pry the remaining pieces of mirror from the backing plate. Do not apply any pressure directly to the backing plate, or you may damage the gears on the electric motor. You should be able to pick up a new mirror and adhesive at your local auto parts store. Use masking tape and a couple of wood blocks to hold the glass in place while the adhesive sets (blocks against the glass, then wrap the whole thing in tape).
