Question about 2006 Kia Spectra
Ther is another couple of things to ceck your tank filler line may have a goosneck shaped design if so it may not fill exept at a slow rate call your local dealer they should be able to let you know if this is the case. there is also a vent tube in all gas filler lines that goes back to the cap to prevent overflowing gas onto the ground make sure that this vent tube is not damaged or clogged. as for the check engine light it could be anything check to make sure that all your major fluids are up to they're fill points. if so a lot of times there is a emission check detector (PCV) valve on the side of your exhast manifold that gets clogged. change it. if you take it to a mechanic be sure of they're reputation. some shops say that for $100.00 they will check and correct the check engine problem and guaranty that it will not come back on or they will fix it free. it has been said that some shops only disconnect your check engine light. also since it could be so many things i know a LOT of people that ignore it and they're vehicles run just fine and have done so for years.
