SOURCE: how do i change the coolant/flush radiator in 2004

Open the petcock on the bottom of the radiator and allow the old coolant to drain.

Close the petcock.

To refill you will first fill the degas container to the cold fill range, leave the cap off the canister. Turn all of the heater controls to warm and turn fan to full. Idle the engine until the thermostat opens. Top off the coolant and put the cap back on. Idle at 3000 RPM for several seconds and then idle again for a minute or so. Check the level and then repeat this 4 times, or until heat is coming from the front and rear heat units.

If you want to flush the system you will have to remove the thermostat and hook up your flush system to the radiator hose at the thermostat housing. Follow the instructions on your flush system then put the thermostat back in. Follow the instructions above to refill.

SOURCE: 2004 ford freestar drivebelt

All you need is a 13mm boxed end wrench. The tensioner pulley is the one all the way on the bottom towards the rear of the van. You can reach it under the van. Slide under the van in front of the passenger front tire and you will wee the pulley. Put the wrench on the bolt and pull towards you to release the tension on the belt.

SOURCE: I can't find the keyless entry code for my 2004 ford freestar

The code is on the fuse box under the dash near the hood release. On my van there are two bar codes on a sticker attached to the fuse box. Under the first bar code, on the right side is the 5 digit code (bring your glasses the numbers are really small). After you get this code, just search the internet and there are plenty of forums on programing the keyless remote and also adding your own unique number to the key pad entry.

Good Luck

You need a new heater core and/or thermostat and/or water pump, once you've determined you dont have a busted hose or radiator leak (unlikely because the car would overheat).

How do i drain radiator on 2005 ford freestar

I'm not familiar with that model of car, but if there's no drain hole with a removable cap at the bottom of the radiator, you may simply need to disconnect a radiator hose at the lowest point in the system.

How to replace the thermostat ford freestar

The only thing I can add is that first drain (into a container) the radiator of at least a couple quarts. Otherwise you will end up with a real nice mess on your floor. And, coolent/water stinks when it burns off on the engine and exhaust. Plus the mix is extremely poisionous to animals. The radiator drain cock is on the bottom.

Position a Drain Pan and uncouple the Radiator Bottom hose clamp, pull of the Hose gently, as you may have to reuse it, and let the Coolant go, Cold engine only, obviously.
