2000 ford expedition wont start. Had after market alarm disconnected

This truck has a factory security system, why would another one be installed?? There is no way to know where the wiring was tapped into for the aftermarket alarm, so just get under the dash and trace the wires is all That I can suggest, remove the steering column covers to access the switch is necessary..

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition. I am not sure if the car alarm I have is stock or after market. I can tell you when the car is alarmed, a small red light by the steering column will blink. Here's my...

Its Aftermarket. See if you can find the "unit", under the dash, for a manufacturers name, then google it for the nearest dealer, and tell them what the problems is.

My alarm in my ford expedition keeps going and going and will not let me start my car. It is a after market ford alarm. We tried pushing the reset button, checked the fuses for the horn, right now the horn...

There is a hood open switch on many after market alarms that can cause the condition you speak of.

Also there is a chance that the engine starter solenoid internal contact has failed for the start circuit. You can check this with a healthy screwdriver by shorting from the positive lead to the terminal. (YES It SPARKS!) If the starter engages then the solenoid is fine. If it does not then the the solenoid has failed.

Another thing that can cause what you speak of is the alarm motion sensor.

If you really want it fixed... like NOW go to any auto alarm installation shop, grab an install tech and take him to your driveway.... (with a borrowed car if need be) My bet is he will have you going in less than 15 mins and for a reasonable charge.

Does ur truck have an after market alarm< but u dont have the remote? if so then thats the valet button and depending on the type of alarm and who installed it< the steps may vary? if you know the brand< you might want to searcjh the web for the instruction manualand see if it has the steps to turn off the valet. Hope this info is helpful!
