A classy lady, try pulling the hood lever a little harder . sometimes they stick. If that don't work get someone to hit the center of the hood while you or someone else pulls hood lever.

SOURCE: Hood not open

Get the hook!! Some cars have a release on them, but you will never know unless the hood is up. You could find a car exactly like yours and peek at it. Or, get a little hook, bent stiff wire, get in there behind the grille and start fishing, you can grab the release and pop it open, it might take a while, but it beats a hole in the grille. I made a little hook out of 1/8 inch wire, 2" ,90 degree bend with a hook on the end and it can get in behind there and pull the catch. A coat hanger will work. Try it. Hope it helps.

Bonnet stuck down

If the inside latch won't work, you'll have to reach up from underneath the hood to pull the lever over to open. Usually a flatblade screwdriver will help. The latch lever has to move towards driver's side to open.

2001 s10 hood wont open with latch, tried bouncing hood while latch pulled but will not work. What now, read remove grill but looked at instructions, said open hood take out four screws under hood.

look at the cable sounds like when you pull the release lever the cable is sticking and not moving enought to pull the latch over usually you can reach up from under and give it an extra pull ,have someone else pull the lever in the truck while you look up under the bumper you should be able to see if the latch is moving

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The hood won't open when you pull the lever. Is there another way to get the hood open.

You will need helper for this. Have your helper pull on release lever when you tell them. You will probably have to park car on blocks or car ramps or if you don't have these you will have to jack up front of car. Looking up from under car you should see cable moving when assistant pulls lever inside car. There will be a spring over cable you are looking at. If cable is broken or just not moving all the way you will have to move it with needle nose vice grips towards drivers side to release catch. Before you do this though, try pressing down on hood when assistant pulls lever, this may relaese hood. Once you have hood opened ensure proper operation of release lever and adjust hood pin if necessary.
