You mean the timing belt i presume ,ten years old low mileage but its the age ,the belt may be ok but take the top part of the cover off and look at the belt ,if you can the shape of the teeth showing on the back of the belt then change it as they only cost 16euros for the petrol engine and they are very easy to change done one yesterday andf it took me all of 20mins .

You need to heed that advice. Although it is not the fan belt but indeed the cam belt. If it breaks it will destroy the engine, leaving you with a $2000 repair bill at the least.
The cambelt keeps the pistons and valves in step(properly timed) If this was out then the valves and pistons would crash into each other with disastrous (expensive) consequences. The belt is not sold seperately, not by Peugeot anyway. It comes in a kit with the tensioner which needs to be replaced as well.

Peugeot 206

If the belt breaks it will do untold damage depending on where the engine is at the time.
Assuming it is not a HDi. The interval is 80,000miles or 10 years for normal conditions and 48,000miles and 5 years for adverse conditions.
You need to take into account the type of use, If you spend 3 hours a day cruising on the motorway the belt will suffer far less than if your around town in stop start traffic.

I have a Peugot 206 1.4 sport the engine diagnostic light keeps coming on the engine seems fine> Can I continue to drive the car. Small garages cannot get into the Peugot computer to diagnose the...

Turn the ignition on. Whats the status of service miles? If service miles are reached zero then the diagnostic light comes up to remind you to bring your car to service station. If needed check my other posts to find out the procedure to set off the service /diagnostic light.
Check that the motor oil and oil filter are changed at regular intervals.
For 206 1.4 sports ecu can be scanned by many garages, costs around 45 quids.

Radiator fan spins after shut off

the fan running on could be a problem fan relay or coolant system sensor
manufacturers recommend a timing belt change at 100,000 klms so you will be safe there for a bit
At the 100,000klms mark replace the belt, crank and cam shafts oil seals , idler pulleys and hydraulic adjuster as the seals will be starting to leak as will the adjuster and oil is not friendly to timing belts
it is a vw so maintaining the car properly may get you another 100,000 klms but the reliability of the car decreases each year
best course of action is regular servicing with periodic fault code reading
oil and filter changes every 10,000klms

1995 Honda civic - Replaced a bad water pump, and the timing belt broke. replaced the timing belt, but the car don't start. Won't tun over. Help

Not at all unusual for the timing belt to break and cause major mechanical problems inside of your engine. A failed timing belt can totally destroy your engine due to the extremely close clearences. That's why the strongly recommend a preventative replacement of the timing belts in all Hondas and Toyotas at specified mileage frequencies between 70,000 and 120,000 miles. Change the timing belt before it destroys the engine. You may now be at a point where only the Honda Dealer or authorized garage may be able to help diagnose the problem.
