i replaced the blower motor and relay, the motor is still shutting off briefly and i noticed today the radio cuts off. could the ignition switch be the actual issue

  • mjrasw Oct 02, 2010

it hasnt gone out long enough to try that! i also noticed after starting the car today there was a delay in the blower motor kicking in. litterly just long enough to notice

  • mjrasw Oct 15, 2010

i found out that the relay was bad that i had bought replaced it today no more cutting out! how do i fix the blender doors cause that is still going on

  • mjrasw Oct 15, 2010

let me clairify.... if i set the contol to defrost only. eventually it switches to foot or defrost and foot. when i set air to recirculate it is suppose to blow vent only and it switches to bilevel. i turn the system off then back on and does what it is suppose to do for a while then switches again.

looking up the parts online it looks as though if i am understanding the correct part is called a blender door actuator and is electronic are we talking about the same part

The blower motor stopping and starting is likely due to wear, and/or the relay or blower fan module being bad.

The separate issue of the bi-level vs. vent/Max blowing is an issue with the blender door.

May I ask what year, model, and engine size of this vehicle?

I meant a relay sort of box that controls the blower motor.

If the ignition switch were the issue, and power was cut off to the radio depending on the position of the switch, you might have something there.

The ignition switch has contacts for the accessories so that when the engine is turned on the accessories go on, and when the engine is turned off the accessories go off to prevent drainage of the battery.

Does jiggling the ignition key do anything to the operation of the blower motor?

The blend door is controlled by vacuum motors in many cases. Have to get the dash off in many cases.

yes, the blend door actuator is the part in question. It may not be hooked up correctly or well, or it is defective.

    Good luck on this repair.

1999 durango vent control switch will not let AC blow threw vents only defrost

Usually this is a problem with the blend doors under the dash. You either have a vac leak, a dead motor, or a faulty door.
The control opens and closes the doors to direct air thru the heater core and evaporator core along with directing air thru the vents.
When a problem occurs, the default position is the defrost vents to make sure the windshield remains clear.
You can do an internet search for "repair durango blend door" for more info.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with hemi. AC intermittently stops blowing

Sounds like the blower motor or the connection to it is failing.Next time it stops give the area below the glove compartment a good whack,if the blower does anything, change it.

The air conditioner isnt blowing hard

Do the blower speed settings still work, just weaker? Or is it just one low speed all the time? If you can still change the speeds then it's a weak blower motor. If its just one low speed all the time, (same speed for high and low blower speed settings) then you need a blower motor resistor.

Ac fan speed

Replace the blower motor resister, this is the speeds for the blower motor,it is located very near the blower motor, and is mounted on the blower box,and it actually goes inside the box,to keep it cool. The reason for it`s failure is the blower motor, even though the blower motor sounds, and runs good,it is drawing too many amps.If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Recirclation light blinks on and off and will not stay on anf fan does not blow at full force when it's switch to level 5.

{: ) Regardless of the blower motor switch position, recirculation is available only in the panel and bi-level mode switch positions. Including the OFF position. The mode switch must be placed in either the panel or bi-level position before the blower motor switch is placed in the OFF position. In order to reduce windshield fogging, outside air is circulated when the mode switch is in the defrost or defog positions. If the recirculation switch is pressed into the ON position when the mode switch is in an unavailable mode position, then the recirculation switch LED will flash 3 times. If the HVAC control module detects a fault with the recirc door the HVAC control module will try to drive the actuator for a predetermined amount of time, to outside air, which is the defaulted position for the recirculation actuator.
As for your blower not full force at level 5, check first the BLWR fuse 40A at the underhood fuse block. If its okay, most likely you have a malfunctioning blower motor resistor assembly.

91 ciera only does defrost, no vents or AC

i believe this is a vacuum operated system. if there is a problem with the vacuum supply to the control unit, it will automatically default to defrost. i would start by checking the vacuum source lines. good luck!

If your vehicle is equipped with automatic climate control, this should help.

Recirculation Operation
The HVAC control module controls the air intake through the recirculation actuator. The recirculation switch closes the recirculation door in order to circulate the air within the vehicle. The outside air switch opens the recirculation door in order to route outside air into the vehicle. Regardless of the blower motor switch position, recirculation is available only in the panel and bi-level mode switch positions. If the HVAC control module detects a fault with the recirc door the HVAC control module will try to drive the actuator for a predetermined amount of time, to outside air, which is the defaulted position for the recirculation actuator

Ac only recirculates won't let out side air in cab 98 q 30 infini

are you sure..???.. MAX air recirculates, recirculated a/c usually only works when MAX is selected. the door is behind the glove box, sometimes you can hear the air change pitch. try it on high blower, turn the max on and off (give it a couple seconds) and see if you can tell if it changes.

1999 town car blower motor resistor.....maybe?

The Blower Motor Resistor is a common problem in your car but not for the problem you describe. When the Heat/AC won't blow on all speeds, the blower motor resistor is at fault. When air won't blow out of vents, bi-level, or floor the problem is the blend door actuator. This is vacuum driven and diverts the air to where you select. When air will only blow from one place (usually the defrost) then the blend door actuator is the problem. This can sometimes be corrected if there's a vacuum leak (usually under the hood in front of the passenger you'll find the vacuum line and can trace it backward to find a leak). If no leak can be found, the blend door actuator itself is defective and needs replacement.
