My Buick Rendezvous now cranks but wont start no matter the temp of the engine or outside. Replaced the ECT sensor and it worked for a while but now refuses to start at all. Jumping it doesn't help.

Hello,

The first thing I think is the 'coil' the second thing I think is the throttle position sensor (TPS). Some sensors will not throw a code as they are pre-ignition sensors (TPS). Press the gas pedal to the floor and start the vehicle - this will bypass the TPS. If the vehicle starts clean or replace the TPS. If not you may have to replace the coil pack or coil(s) but test them first (ohm with volt-meter - book should have specs).

I hope this helps

Everything is good but the vehicle does not pull. There OBD11 result says crank sensor but the vehicle is starting with a pre-ignition sound.

Why my blazer will crank over but wont start but when i turn it off it will why

When you release the crank position that major current drain is gone, meaning everything else now has better current. Also could be bad ignition switch, but more likely bad ignition module, or coil.

Crank sensor wont have any effect on starting, Cam position sensor would. Also check all your fuses.

Crank position sensor

Check if you have spark on a plug wire when it is cranking over and wont start. If you have no spark, a good guess is the crank position sensor. Often the cause of no spark, but could also be the ignition control module, the camshaft position sensor, or the pcm. If you want to be sure before replacing the sensor, have the sensor tested while on the car. A shop could test it.

Rx 300 randomly will not start

Do you hear a faint single click noise when you turn the key to crank position?

When the problem occurs try to keep cycling the key to the crank position at least 10 times to help isolate the problem. If it has any clicking or reaction to the cycling of the key it may be worn contacts inside the starter.
