SOURCE: Diasnostic Troble codesPo326sensor 1 circuit

Hi,

Diagnostic Code: P1516

Tests/Procedures:
1. Clear code and start engine, if code does not reset stroke accelerator pedal to rev engine and see if code resets.
2. If code sets, lab scope the 2 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) circuits on the throttle body (Purple wire pin D and Dark Green wire pin A) with a lab scope looking for glitches or drop outs as open the throttle plate. If there is no voltage check for the wire being shorted to ground.
3. Verify the Black and Black/White wires are good grounds and the Light Blue/Black and Gray wires have 5 volts.
4. Replace throttle body assembly if wiring is OK but sensors have glitch or drop out.

Potential Causes:
Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor
Throttle Body Module
Wiring Harness

Diagostic Code: P2101
Throttle Actuator Control Motor Position PerformancePossible Causes
Throttle body connector is damaged (check pins for damage, and for moisture)
TAC motor control 1 or 2 circuit is open or shorted to ground
TAC motor control 1 or 2 circuit is shorted to voltage
Throttle body assembly has failed
ECM has failed
Diagnostic Code: P0326

It is associated with a problem with knock sensor.

http://www.obd-codes.com/faq/knock-sensor.php

If there is no driveability issues, i would recommend you to take the car to the dealer as there were certain bulletins issued when the check engine light would throw these error's due to software glitch.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

SOURCE: I was trying to pass

P0101....Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem

i cannot find the code number you listed ,but this code is the generic code and if its right then its the mass air flow sensor as this would cause the engine to loose power and resetting it helps but the fault is still their and when its passing a lot of air like on acceleration then its not reading right and throwing the code causing the problem you describe ,So before you go mad at the expense then just change this unit first it should be in the air intake pipe between the air filter and the manifold and should have 4 wires running to it ,Not sure on this vehicle as iam a europeon mechanic and never seen one of these vehicles .The reason your code reader is reading a 2 in front of it is quite normal and you would need to connect it to the internet to upgrade it and download the codes to put in the machines memory so it will tell you what the code is ,well mine does anyway and it will read older europeon cars and american cars but europeon cars from 2005 ---- no chance

SOURCE: my 2004 chevy impala dash lights wont come on

first thing I would check in this car is the dimmer switch, all you power for the dash lights go through it. check it with a meter to see what voltage is coming out of it, if this all checks out OK the move to the next thing in line, this would be the connection at the back side of the insterment cluster, use a good contact cleaner, I use CRC works good for me. now if this does not clear it up then you will have to inspect the clust printed board on the back of the cluster, look for hot marks, this will look like discolored spots just like a burn, sometimes its more suttle than an odviouse burn mark. I hope this helps you in your search for a solution. If you need a wiring diagram of what wire is what send me the Specs ont he Vehicle (year make model engine size)

SOURCE: engine won't start and shows trouble code P1516 and reduced engine power light is on

Here is the definition of the code.

Possible causes - Faulty Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module
- Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module harness is open or shorted
- Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module circuit poor electrical connection (loose or broken wires)

P1516 CHEVROLET Description The Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module contains data which is essential for proper TAC operation. The TAC module continuously test the integrity of this data. When the TAC module is unable to write or read data to and from Random Access Memory (RAM), or the TAC module is unable to correctly read data from the flash memory or and internal TAC module processor fault is detected and the Detected Trouble Code (DTC) is set.

Error codes 2101 and 1516 on my 2004 chevy trailblazer

DTC P2101-
The commanded throttle position (TP), based on accelerator pedal position (APP) and possibly other limiting factors, is compared to the actual TP. The 2 values should be within a calibrated range of each other. Both the powertrain control module (PCM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) module redundantly monitor the commanded and actual TP. This DTC sets if the PCM detects an out-of-range condition between commanded and actual throttle position.
DTC P1516
The predicted throttle position (TP) is compared to the actual throttle position. The two values should be within a calibrated range of each other. Both the powertrain control module (PCM) and the throttle actuator control (TAC) module redundantly monitor the predicted and actual throttle position. This DTC sets if the PCM detects an out of range condition between the predicted and actual throttle position.

Will codes P2101 and P1516 cause no spark at the coil over plugs?

unlikely
code p 2101 is throttle actuator problem and code p1516 intake manifold air control solenoid
no spark can be cam/crank position sensor, immobilizer , ignition control module or ECM problem

2004 GMC Envoy SLT 4.2L the engine will crank but want start why?

P1516 = Throttle Actuator Position Performance
P2101 = Throttle Actuator "A" Control Motor Circuit Range/Performance

Both of these codes indicate a problem with your throttle position actuator system. I'm not sure how GMC/Chevy treat this, it's possible that if the PCM/ECM will not allow the engine to start if the throttle actuator is not working properly (it may cause the engine to accelerate rapidly when running). You could try replacing the throttle actuator, but that may not solve the problem if it's a wiring issue. Best to have it checked out by a qualified mechanic.

Important: DO NOT replace the APP sensor. Inspect the PCM build date first.

Before following the diagnostic information in SI on DTCs P1516, P2135 and/or P2138, an inspection of the PCM serial number year and Julian (PCM build) date will be necessary to determine if the PCM will need to be replaced to correct the repeat DTC P1516. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement in SI in order to remove the PCM. Refer to the above graphic illustration (1) for the location of the PCM serial number.

The serial number is read left to right. The last digit of the year is the 9th character and the Julian date is comprised of the 10th, 11th and 12th characters and is used to determine the PCM build date. Refer to the example below to read a build date from the PCM serial number:

* 8 6 Y N AU K 1 5 3 2 5 0 R P N *

If the PCM year and Julian dates are between 5182 and 5304 , replace the PCM. Refer to the Part Catalog to order the correct PCM for your vehicle application, if necessary.

Vehicles with PCM built outside the dates should refer to SI diagnostics for DTCs P1516, P2135 and/or P2138
