Could be tie rod ends, stabilizer bar bushings, ball joints. rusted due to water entry. Does it do it hwne you bounce on the bumper to move the van up and down.

Is this the typical ford power steering squeal? if it is you'll need to replace the power steering pump, but you dont have to if you can live with the noise.

It could be any of these, but check your sway bar links. My 98 explorer was making alot of front end noise and i replaced the sway bar links (which comes as a kit with the bushings and everything you need) and that stopped all the noise. Its a very reasonably priced kit at around 10 bucks for each side. If you think it is the steering squeal that others have talked about, go to the nearest auto parts store , and get a bottle of Lucas power steering treatment, you will need to remove enough fluid from the reservoir to add the bottle of lucas, but that will stop the squeal for 10 bucks.

Is it normal to hear a squeak from the number 4 cylinder rod bearing as I manually rotate engine crank? I have the front end and oil pan off.

make sure that the squeak is not from dry rings in the bore
put oil down the cylinder and rotate the crank
if it goes it could be just dry and need no further checks but if it is in a bearing then it is serious and needs replacing
turning a crank should produce a dry scraping noise as the pistons move up and down the bores but certainly not other noise

2005 stratus squeaks in front end over bumps and car shakes when slowing from speeds of 35mph and over

The noise would usually be the strut or the control arm bushings. The vibration could also be the component making the noise, or warped brake rotors.

Have a 1997 Mountaineer a the front makes this loud squeaking sound when turning/running over speed bumps or any time front suspension is working

It can be bushings in the front sway rods or the control arms. The tie-rod ends or even ball-joint sockets can make noise if they are dry.

Recurring Front end squeak in 97 Acura CL

lol, well...you can either go the route of the previous persons solution or you can- if you are positive the sqeak is coming from the ball joints-spray some WD-40 on it. I wouldnt suggest replacing it again, since you just did it and chances are there is nothing wrong with the integrity of the part, your just getting an annoying byproduct lol. Like when belts sqeak(which p's me off but i just turn my radio up lol).

My 1995 Dodge Stratus is making a noise coming from the front end

Sounds like it is time for some ball joints. There is no way to grease them, and when they start squeaking, it is time for replacement. Do both upper and lower on the side that is squeaking.

Squeak in front end

Okay....I have been working on my boss' car for a week with this SAME issue....first....try to figure out the spot it is coming from. This part is the pain. Second, have a can of WD-40 and spray it into any joint you find. This squeek could be from an upper bushing, a lower bushing, an A arm bushing, or any other bushing on that side....so start out with this method first because it will only cost you a few dollars, or free if you have it already. But do one at a time till you find it. Then, you'll know what item to replace.
