Well then what are the 6 wires behind the air cleaner tube which is the maf and the iat wires are in that cluster of wires. I need what 2 wires they are so i can tap into them with a fuel module.

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

Are you going to be able to solve this problem?

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

no i dont mean that. The wires that i have in the 6 wire plug are as follows from l to r tan or white, gray with red stripe, orange with gray stripe, black with white stripe, red, tan or white with red stripe. It is on the back side of the air cleaner tube.

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

Since the first guy could not answer my problem maybe some one else can. I need the color of the two wires in the 6 wire plug. Vechile is 2000 E-150 5.4L wire colors are as follows from l to r tan or white, gray with red stripe, orange with gray stripe, black with white stripe, red, tan or white with red stripe. It is on the back side of the air cleaner

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

Is this problem going to solve y or n?

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

vin number is 1fdre14w6yha87067 see i have to tired into the two wires with a fuel and horsepower module

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

yes the wire colors i gave you are correct. But i don't have 2 gray wires just one that has gray in it with red stripe and the one beside it is to light to be gray its either tan or white solid with no stripe in it at all.

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

Sorry for giving you the wrong engine size hopefully this helps you out better. I was told when i bought the van 3-4 yrs. ago that it was a 5.4

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

So i would assume that the wire that i think is white or tan is light blue. So tap into that one and tap into the red one and that will be the two wires im looking for to hook up my module. Also where do i go for me to rate you.

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

Yes thanks for that one wire that i hook up to, what is the other wire that i hook up to cause there are two wires for iat sensor.

  • jamesjules3 Sep 03, 2010

Well yiu still have not gave me the second wire that i"m looking for? Please respond.

Hello! I wanted to get back to you this evening...Perhaps you mean the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV)...
The wire colors are,,,White/Light Blue and Red....Saailer

Hello! The Idle Air Control is a signal name with wire color White /Light Blue...It is pin#83 on the PCM connector...It comes from the Idle Air Control Valve...The IACV has two pins ...White/Light Blue and Red...Red is +12 volts...There isn't an Idle Air Temperature (IAT) sensor on a 5.4L

The MAf on a 2000 5.4L are as follows...Gray...Gray/Red...Tan/Light Blue...Red...Light Blue/Red...And Black/White...You mentioned an Orange/Gray... That suggests the fly in the ointment...Stick with me ...
Lets make certain...Please give the VIN# of the vehicle....Saailer

Hello Yes it will be solved...I know exactly what you are after...Thanks for vin...There is an IAT on the 99 model 5.4L but not the 2000...the IAT on the 99 has wire colors...Gray...And Gray/Red...The MAF has a four wire connector...Minus the Gray and Gray/red...The Gray wire is the IAT sensor input to the PCM...The Gray/Red is a multiple to other sensors...These are the two wires you are need...

Let me check vin to define engine...ETC...The one item that bothers me is the Orange/Gray...Are you sure of the color?

Auto wiring in today's world is extremely complex...And every effort on my part must be made to be absolutely correct..............Saailer

Hello! Problem solved...The "W" engine code is a 4.6L...It would have been an engine code of "L" for a 5.4L......

Let me reassess with the 4.6...Saailer

Hello! On the 4.6L the Air Intake Temperature sensor is incorporated into the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor...The Light Blue/Red wire is the sensor input to the PCM and is the Intake Air Temperature signal..God bless...Have a nice night...

Would you be so kind as to re-rate my solution...............Saailer

Good morning! Here is a summery.................

The Mass Air Flow sensor has a 6 wire connector...Pin # 1-6...Wire colors, respectfully, are...Gray/Red, Red, Black/White, Tan/Light Blue, Light Blue/Red, And Gray ( age causes it to appear Tan or White)...

Disconnect the MAF connector...Locate Pin #5...Wire color is Light Blue/Red...This is the input to the PCM on Pin # 88...Signal name is; MAF SENSE IN...This signal "is" the intake air temperature...
Pin # 3 on the MAF connector is Black/White...It is the return side of the MAF sensor or ground...

The two wires that you require are...Light Blue/Red (sense in) and Black/White (return or ground)...
The MAF is a 5 volt sensor...

To re-rate, change the number of thumbs.........................Send feedback............Saailer

What 2 wires for iat sensor

you lost the colors.? or are there 2 wires there that you know are IAT but dont know which pin fit them.?
no matter, either pin works.
the sensor is not electronic, its just a resistor, that is non polarized
the ECU sends current to the IAT, the current that flows, tells the
ECU what the air temperature is. in the intake.
no car year stated
no engine option stated in F150
so NO ANSWER exact , ever. (country helps too, but ill not say that it scares folks to death for some reasons)
Im in USA and ford does EXPORT cars and trucks.
the IAT is a thermistor, the FSm shows how it works and how
to test one easy, super easy, ask.

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor

Operation - IAT

This sensor is a resistor based sensor which detects the intake air temperature. According to the intake air temperature reading the ECM/PCM will control the necessary amount of fuel injection.

ECM = Engine Control Module (aka "the car's computer")
PCM = Powertrain Control Module (aka "the car's computer")

I have a 03 mitsubishi eclipse 2.4 what colors belong to the IAT sensor

Color wires? The IAT sensor is part of the mass air flow sensor. The wires in the MAF harness that go to the IAT sensor are: Brown is ground, Red/Purple is the 5v reference, and Green/Yellow comes from the IAT into the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor and out to the computer.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
