You can start here;

ICM Test

See Figure 1

  1. Remove the ICM from the front fender apron.
  2. Measure the resistance between the ICM terminals as shown below:
    1. GID-PIP IN: should be greater than 500 ohms.
    2. PIP PWR-PIP IN: should be less than 2,000 ohms.
    3. PIP PWR-TFI PWR: should be less than 200 ohms.
    4. GND-IGN GND: should be less than 2 ohms.
    5. PIP IN-PIP: should be less than 200 ohms.

  3. If any of these checks failed, replace the ICM with a new one.

95 mustang, driving along and car just dies. wait 30 min s0metimes it will start and sometimes it wont. no spark. why?

Ignition modules and pick-up coils are pretty common on the older fords. When it doesn't start check for pulse at the coil. You can do this with a test light. Hook the lead wire of the test light to ground. Unplug the coil, turn the key on and see which of the two wires has power to it. Then plug the coil back in and back probe the wire that did not have power and crank the engine over. The test light should flash. If it does not than I old suspect the ignition module and would probably replace the pickup cl in the distributor for good measure. This was a fairly common symptom back in the day.

Car wont start

being 94' im sure it has high miles, cam and crank sensor common to fail over time do to wear and heat exposure. check the basic, make sure you getting fuel and sparks. fuel pump only work as long the engine is turning over due to the crank sensor sense the flywheel turning. crank sensor may be faulty. no sparks, check coil make sure is good and putting out 12v, auto zone can test it for free. good coil, than check cam sensor, cam sensor senses the cam turning and tell the ecu to tell the coil to disperse the sparks to the plugs. cam and crank sensors, there no way of testing it but replacing the unit unless you have the special equipment to test it; both is fairly cheap to replace, check ebay.

You might need a new starter or a new alternator. Get it checked at a shop to make sure you find the right thing that you need to change.

i had the same problem just a little bit ago with my 91 mustang lx 2.3L. b. If you are not getting and sparks from your coil packs then im going to guess this is where the problem is. start by replacing all spark plugs and wires. if this does not work it most likely the coil packs ,But if there is spark then its your timing belt.
