Question about Lincoln Navigator
U will need to replace the gear position sensor, also known as the transmission selector switch and neutral safety switch, the part is located on the drivers side of the trans case where the shift cable hooks up, remove the shift cable and the the shift arm off the trans (one nut), then 2 screws that hold the switch to the trans, the switch is adjustable so put the new one where the old was, they are slotted holes, this should fix the problem, below is a picture and part number as well as price.
AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1S5329 Neutral Safety Switch, Trans. code 4R100; Automatic trans $37.39
