Question about Lincoln Navigator

2 Answers

My radio turns off anytime i shift from park. Also my park assist says error at this time along with PRND error flashes as if it doesnt know what gear its in. Im sure its electrical but i cant find anything wrong in the interior fuse panel, i tried replacing all the relays and fuses in there. Is there another relay centre or fuse box? On a 2003 lincoln navigator?

U will need to replace the gear position sensor, also known as the transmission selector switch and neutral safety switch, the part is located on the drivers side of the trans case where the shift cable hooks up, remove the shift cable and the the shift arm off the trans (one nut), then 2 screws that hold the switch to the trans, the switch is adjustable so put the new one where the old was, they are slotted holes, this should fix the problem, below is a picture and part number as well as price.

AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1S5329 Neutral Safety Switch, Trans. code 4R100; Automatic trans $37.39

Hello! That was a first step to insure the Parking Aid Module (PAM) had power...When you remove the transmission from park, a signal is sent to the Power Control Module ( data link between the two devices is at fault...An effect is the PAM, which controls the RADIO, windshield wipers, and air suspension...The cause is a fault in the digital transmission position sensing...The effect is the radio being turned off...You'll need to take the Navigator to a dealership for a scan...Good luck

Control panel where PRND symbols are all lite up with a rectangle box around them. I'm unable to take out of park and i notice the rpms are high when driving like its not shifting out of first gear.

Auto transmission controller or sensor's fault; you need to visit a service point. If you have more positions than prnd like 1 2 etc you may have the option to manually shift till 2nd gear to drive to the service but if not then you need to call your assistance

2000 chrysler concorde check engine light came on, dash lighs flash and transmission wont shift any ideas?

It sounds like you have a problem with your security system if you mean that it won't allow you to shift out of park. BUT you should start off getting the engine error code read so you will know what the car is trying to tell you. Anytime you get a check engine light, the vehicle generates an error code.

Since you probably can't drive it, you need to rent, borrow or buy an OBDII scanner and get that code, so it gives you a clue on where to begin the troubleshooting process.

I have a Audi A4 SE 2000 Reg. FE52UFB, with a I believe a Multi-tronic automatic 6 speed gearbox. I have flashing PRND lights. The car runs well, although very occasionally it has dropped out of gear,...

You really should not drive your car in that condition.Resetting codes will not help and it's a waste of money. All indicates problem with torque converter. Service immediately!!!!

1988 buick lesabre shifting gears problem

You need to have the linkage adjusted. Over time, the linkage can go out of adjustment. If this is a column shift car the mechanical linkage may have shifted from hitting a bump or such. Hope this helps, let me know if I may be of further assistance.
