First of all you should tell why you think you need to take the ignition switch out?
If you lost the key, take a door lock out and have a key made for it.

If the lock is bad and needs replacement, you need to disconnect the battery, take off the steering wheel cover, remove the nut holding the wheel on. Tap down with drift while lifting up on wheel to remove. Then you need a special device that screws on wheel shaft but pushes on steering lock plate, so you can remove retaining clip. Then remove steering lock plate. I believe turn signals come out next. Then just a screw to remove ignition switch I think.

Take the shifter and push it up past park. That usually works, Or give the shifter a little wiggle. There is a locking system in there that can cause the key not to fully go to the off position.
If it does go completely to the off position, then the pins in the ignition switch could be stuck and a lite tapping with a ballpeen hammer around the switch can loosen them up.
