Automatic or manual climate control ?

  • The blower motor does not operate correctly - EATC
  • Circuitry short/open
  • A/C blower motor speed control
  • EATC module
  • Go To Pinpoint Test Q .

Pinpoint Test Q: The Blower Motor Does Not Operate Correctly - EATC
Normal Operation Under normal operation, the blower motor control module receives a 1-2 volt signal from the EATC module through circuit CH218 (GN/VT) to determine the desired blower motor speed. The EATC module receives a feedback voltage from the blower motor control module through circuit VH219 (GY) to determine actual blower motor speed. When the highest blower motor setting is selected, the EATC module sends 12 volts to the blower control module through circuit CH217 (BN).
    Possible Causes
  • An open, short to voltage, ground or together in circuits CH218 (GN/VT), VH219 (GY) or circuit CH217 (BN)
  • Blower motor control module
  • EATC module
  • If automatic HVAC system i would suspect Blower motor control module .

01 grand.prix ac fan switch only works on high. has a duel temp controller when you turn fan off the only way fan comes back on is to move the temp controller levers

Hi!!
When the Blower Motor Resistor (controls blower speeds) goes bad, the blower motor works only on HIGH SPEED. REPLACE IT.
BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR Removal & Installation
  • Disconnect negative battery cable.
  • Remove right lower instrument panel insulator panel.
  • Disconnect blower resistor connector located behind right side of dash.
  • Remove blower resistor screws and blower resistor.
To install, reverse removal procedure
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa!!

Heater blower stopped working?

Hello,
You may want to try your fan on all speeds. If it will work on high, you have a bad resistor for the fan motor. ( high speed doesn't go through the resistor ).
If it doesn't work on any speed, I would check the following;
1. Make sure the fuse isn't blown for the fan blower motor.
2. Check, or have checked the wires between the fan control switch and the fan blower motor.
3. Have the fan control switch checked.
4. Have the fan blower motor checked.

I hope this helps you.

Blower motor for heater is not working. resistor is new and motor has been tested fine out of the car. It has 2 wires at the motor neither is hot when the car is running and the heater fan is on high. what...

Check fuse
check power before resistor
if there power to resistor and none at the blower motor connector the resistor is bad (even if it is new)
if no power to resistor must follow power from fuse to the resistor.
try the first two tips first

Hope this helps, it it does please leave feedback Thank You and Good Luck

My 2001 Voyager blower fan only runs on high.

This is 100% the Blower (Fan) Motor Resistor located near the Blower Motor.
This is a very common problem with Chyrsler, Dodge, Plymouth. The key symptom is the Fan only working on High.
This is very easy to access and replace.

Let me know if this helped....

Switch ,relay resistors or motor is shorted to ground.
Start with the switch and remove each one until it stops . test the item and it will probably be the culprit. Now remember most vehicles while running will have blower motor run at a low speed all the time.
The only time this should not happen is when the ignition is off.

The blower only works on high heat or air

you have a bad blower resistor the black box that the blower fan is located in if you look near the fan generally the blower resistor will be mounted in box this is so when blower is running it will blow air across this resistor to keep it cool it basically is some wires coiled like springs that current goes thru to blower, larger the spring larger the resistance current goes thru big one the fan would be on low when you put it on high it bypasses the resistor that why you have only high speed now
