Question about 1987 Ford Thunderbird
Sounds like bad fuel pressure. Check fuel pump and fuel pressure off the rail. Also a severely clogged fuel filter can cause that.

Mine is doing same thing ..i put new feul pump new filter ..but all along its the ignision modgulator ..44 dollares its on the distributor ..its grey just below distibutor cap ..ok

SOURCE: starts but won't stay running
Turn off all your accesories and turn the key forward, but dont start it. You should hear the pump kick on for 2-3 seconds. Prime the system a few times then start it. This will narrow your diagnosis
