Depends on your engine, and they show a special tool. Tool looks like a big socket to me.

WILL CHANGING THE PCV VALVE HELP SOME WITH MY OIL PRESSURE

PCV valve isn't likely to change your oil pressure at all. All it does is vent the crankcase to your intake.

I don't know your engine, but some have both a "sending switch" and a "sensor" for oil. One for the light, one for that gauge.

You could also have a bad wire from sensing switch to gauge.

We are trying to find out if my 1997 buick le sabre has an oil pan sensor or oil pressure sensor and where it is located at so that we can change out the oil pan

all car well have a oil pressure sensor, the oil pressure sensor is what lets you know, you have good oil pressure, if light comes on low oil pressure, need to turn off engine before major engine damage occurs, the oil pressure switch will be next to the oil filter, screw into the engine block, your car also has a oil pan sensor, called oil level sensor, that one screw into the side of the oil pan, it let you know when your some what low on oil.

Oil light comes on truck stops running..have changed relays filter and oil etc.but not pump yet

Check your oil pressure while the vehicle is running. If you are not getting oil to your head, you need a new oil pump.

I keep losing oil pressure in my 2004 f150 with a 4.6 litre. I have changed the filter and oil. What is the chance that the oil pump is bad? If so is it located inside the oil pan? Can I change the pump...

Ok 3 questions to answer:

1 yes the pump could be bad, but it is not likely.
2 yes it is in the oil pan.
3 yes you can change it without pulling the engine, though it is not easy.

Most common problem for your oil pressure reading to be going away, is the oil pressure sending unit(sensor) it is located next to the oil filter, check and replace if neccessary this sensor first and see if your oil pressure returns to normal. If not then you may have a pump problem. Hope this helps, let me know.

Oil Pressure Sensor Testing
  1. Check the oil level and correct as necessary. Turn the ignition switch on, but do not start the engine.
  2. Disconnect the sensor lead at the sensor. The gauge should read full scale.
  3. Ground the connector. The gauge should read at the bottom of the scale.
  4. If the gauge functions properly, replace the sensor.

How do i change the oil pump on 98 chevy malibu

Are you sure it's the oil pump, Most of the time it's the oil sensor that has gone bad. Just trying to save you lot's of job since the oil pump is at the bottom of the engine in the oil pan. You can check by having the engine running and looking down the hole where the oil filler cap goes. Rev the engine up a bit and you should see oil splashing around which means your oil pump is working. Your oil pressure is created by the crank shaft. Good luck
