The air conditioner in my gmc sierra truck only works on #5 on the fan. Do you think I only need a new fan switch or is it more than that, and is that expensive to get fixed

I would say it is the switch and it is not that hard to change, just a matter of popping of plastic push pins, with a flat tip screwdriver in the round middle, and removing the panels. then laying upside down. The vehicle is old enough where the parts store will have or can order the new switch. Hope this helps tim

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 EXT cab. In early summer this year the #5 (highest) fan speed quite working on the blower. Now the fan does not come on at all. I have replaced the HVAC control with a new...

I would get the fan motor itself checked out. #5 position is where the current goes straight to the motor, that being burnt out indicates a burnt motor to me, or the resistor is fried. But I think the resistor is either in the motor or the controller, so either way, do check the fan.

2004 GMC Sierra 4dr truck. the fan does not work

The switch or the wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. The highest setting 5 has no resistor, so the blower runs on high but the high current flow ends up burning up the switch's contact on that setting or the resistor wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. Common would be the switch it self, if the switch is good. Then it's going to be the wire leads at the speed resistor by the blower motor under the glove box by the passenger leg compartment. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Sierra running 100% again soon.

Kia Rio....fan/heater not blowing air. Air conditioner/heater fan not working.

Check the fuses and relays for heater and AC. If good , a fusible link wire could have burned out.

Need wiring diagram for fan speed switch on 2003 gmc sierra

the fan control balast (or speed controler) is burned out. by design if it only goes high, its junk. replace it and youll have it fixed. should be by the fan under the dash on the passenger side.

GMC Sierra A/C Stops Cooling After Driving a Few Minutes

It sounds like you either have an condensor fan problem or low freon. The condensor fan is near the radiator. In some cases the radiator fan doubles as the condensor fan. So look there too.

Blower fan not working correctly

I had the same problem. There is a filter down under the passenger side of the dash that clogs up and stops the air from blowing out any of the vents. I removed the filter completely and now it blows like new.

Your blower moter is under your glovebox and very easy to replace.I dont think thats your ploblem.I would pull off the dash.It will snap right off without breaking anything. Then pull out the part that holds the selector switch for the fan speed. Then you unplug that switch.Clean the copper contacts.Plug it back in.If everything works again like it should and did in my truck then it is either that switch that is bad or the wiring harness.I would replace that switch.
