Yes, it is stuck into one of the valve covers with a hose attached. Pull it straight out of the valve cover and check to see if the valve will shake back and forth. If not clean or replace.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2001 isuzu rodeo 2.2l 4 cyl

My guess, a USA car?
and is not 2.2L diesel guess 2.
its the 2.2L gas engine and is really GM/Holden.
we in USA do have 2.2L eng. gas, with DOHC belt drive cam.
Ok, my guess 3 is that you just heard someone say replace the PCV valve. but that person never saw your engine before, so was a generic , wish...
If you try to buy the part, you will fail.
(aftermarket of course)

OR did you fail to say engine leaks oil bad
and that PCV can cause this, it sure can.
its a system not a single valve. ever.

a word to wise some engines have no valve, Like old jeep 4.0 liter gas.

some have only an orifice, (that needs cleaned only or not... inspection work best)
so next i google for it, and get ZERO.
I then login to mitchells for you (so can you)
and I SEE NO VALVE.
Know where there,(deep searches) shows PCV valve.

why is that?
answer is: IT is not there.
it uses some kind of special venting system.
in most cases its and orifice, fitting on the intake.

just posted this last week, my guess to you as anony. post2.

the above red line, may have pcv device here, orifice ,etc.
26105704-j1tz12pcffy4oogy4uqrcbj4-4-1.jpgsee this red arrow i think this is the vacuum port for PCV
clean that? is probably just and orifice fitting;
for sure it has:
1: a fresh air path to air cleaner.
2: and a vacuum suck side, with no valve.
on some engines its a Isuzu only section of pipe that if clogged, you clean it or replace the whole thing (very hard to source here)

here are all 2.2l , fix engines or buy parts
its best to know , what is there. (i dont)
quote:
2.2 L X22SE I4 (gasoline)
2.2 L Z22XE I4 (gasoline)
2.2 L X22DTH I4 (diesel)
"The 2.2 L engine was a derivative of the GM Family II engine introduced in 1995 built by Holden in Australia that saw usage first in Australian and European versions of Isuzu-derived trucks and SUVs, and was later used in the Isuzu Rodeo
unquote:
found this post on a real isuzu form
quote
no PCV valve as such on the engine, but there is a small restrictor on the inlet manifold gaskets - between ports 2 and 3.

96 rodeo 3.2 started smoking all at once. could it be the pcv valve? still runs good

Try replacing the PCV valve because if it's stuck closed it will build up internal pressure and cause oil to blow by the rings. It is an inexpensive way to start diagnosing anyway.
