Loose wheel not caused by cv joints. More likely ball joint or tie rod end. Usually need a lift to do this kind of work. If cv boot is torn open, replace axle as well. If you haven't done this kind of work before, recommend you get some help from someone that has done it.

1998 mercury sable has something slipping when you turn left is the cv joint bas or is it something else

How does it feel like slipping ? Like the tires slipping on a wet road ?
Does the car slide around ?
Usually a cv joint or hub bearing will make a noise when failing.

Why is my 1994 mercury sable making a clicking noise when I step on the gas

the clicking noise? is it a pop and crack while turning the steering wheel from left to right while the vehicles moving?if so,you may have a bad cv joint in one of your axles.depending on which side its coming from, tells you which cv joint is bad.drivers side front?pop and crack? it's bad.passengers side, pop and crack while turning the steering wheel left to right? bad cv joint. in this case, you will need an axle replacement on the side where the pop and cracks coming from. thank you for choosing fixya.com and if this does not assist you, please feel free to repost your questions to fixya.com!

In a 1998 Sable when I turn left there is a tinging noise. the boots are not cracked and I just replaced the right front wheel bearing. What is that noise?

just because the boots are not cracked does not mean the cv joints are not bad get in an large open area like empty parking lot turn steering wheel all the way left place light pressure on brake pedal and accelerate do you hear a clanking popping sound if so bad cv joint may want to recheck all previuos repairs for loose bolts etc..this vehicle has sway bar end links that like to create noise at unusual times but generally over bumps i am a mechanic and see alot of defective new parts out the box so don,t dismiss a part because it,s new Qaulity control is not what it seems to be anymore repost if this doesnt help maybe more info if possible

Growling noise from front of my taurus while driving, it also makes a whining noise when i steer hard left. i had the right front wheel bearing changed but the noise's are still there. also the inner cv...

It sounds like the CV joint, no they are not supposed to be loose, free to move but not loose like you describe, sort the CV then look at the wheel bearing as I imagine all the noises will disguise others

Mercury Sable makes noise when turning left and backing in? It sounds like a grinding noise.

Sounds like a CV (Constant Velocity) joint. I can't completely solve this for you, but you can re-post with the CV problem. The sound - grinding and or popping - should be coming from only one side of the car - but it could be the inner or outer CV joint on that side. Check the rubber boots around the joints - they are located on each end of the drive shaft on the transaxle. If you have a torn boot, that will probably indicate which joint is bad.
