It's most likely the neutral safety switch, it won't allow car to crank and you only hear the starter relay click. This is usually a part of the clutch pedal assembly and should have a button the pedal arm hits to start car. There's a little plastic/rubber thingy that can break off. Electrical tape a couple nickles to together and on to that spot to make contact or unplug the connector that goes to it.

it could have leaking slave cylinder on gear box bell housing or your clutch needs replacing, gear box out and replace clutch as a kit, pressure plate, clutch plate, thrust bearing (comes as kit) but dont forget to check and or replace the spigot bearing in the rear of the crank shaft when doing clutch kit.

Were you careful not to get your hands on the face of the clutch disc too much? Any indication of oil or grease around the disc, like from a leaking rear crank seal, when you changed the clutch?
Did you bleed the slave cylinder, to get all air out of the system?

If still no help, someone will have to troubleshoot it. A new clutch should not slip, especially with the flywheel polished to smooth.

DYI Clutch change, now transmission won't fit with the new clutch kit??

While its seams you don't see where you have to make caution,
So Now !Put back fry-wheel back on crankshaft then just check two thinks ......Check 1: see clutch plate there is center gropes on it so Mach on gear shaft center gropes.(I mean just put clutch plate in to transmission shaft & check if it`s center gropes are same match) If yes then pull back clutch plat & then refit under pressure plate on fly-wheel. Now come to Check 2 ! Mow when you fit it you must do centering of clutch plat to fix on gear shaft, So How you can do ?
There is two ways 1 is you have same shaft designed road or wood piece which help to center it!
While 2 ways is take big screw driver & put in the hole & do centering by looking it where center come just tight pressure plat bolts to hold the center .
So when you did like this you ll fix transmission (gear box) easily in a mints ....Just simple like this.
So best of luck & if you have any problem just mail me tallnsmartman@yahoo.com......

1983 toyota sr5 pickup wont move when in gear, let off the clutch and it revs up

Your clutch is gone, the clutch disc is worn so much it won't hold.
Buy a clutch kit-includes a new clutch disc, a new or reconditioned clutch pressure plate, and a new clutch release bearing. These three parts will restore your clutch. They all fit together between the transmission and the engine. The transmission has to be removed to put in the new clutch package. The cost of the clutch kit is about $120-$140.

to removal clutch cylinder first remove the pin which holding cylinder and pedal it under just follow the pedal, then open the bonnet have look where fitted clutch cylinder loose the pipe just 10mm spanner then remove to nut which is 12mm spanner then it is out.
if you want to put new kit use to hold cylinder with vise then remove dust cover then remove carlip then just remove old.
to put the new kit clean first check also inside the cylinder if there any sine scratches if not use some brake oil put some in the cylinder before you put the new kit then fixed and plead to take air in the system.

How to choose the best clutch kit

you need to match your new clutch to the old one the only concern you should have is the torque value it should always be the same or exceed the the factory specs but if you exceed the torque it can be no more than 15% greater than factory specs.also remember to change the input shaft bearing/bushing in the crank

The problem is a factory solenoid prone to failure, do a search on "clicky starter fix" for instructions to repair it with a relay or check low range offroad.com rocky road outfitters.com... to buy a prebuilt kit for about $15
