Should be on the bottom of radiator facing back toward firewall. You may need to get under to see it.

There is no drain plug or valve on most modern radiators. You have to remove the lower radiator hose in order to drain them.

Where is the radiator drain plug for a Pontiac Grand AM SE, 2.4L 4cylnder?

Typically they are on the drivers side. It will be a white plug with a 1/4 inch square notch in the middle.

I would not drain the radiator with the drain. They are known to break the o-ring and leak after wards. It is usually much easier to pull the lower hose and let the radiator drain that way.

TURN THE PLUG COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND PULL IT OUT AS YOU TURN, IT IS MUCH EASIER TO JUST REMOVE THE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE ON THIS CAR.

3abfbea.jpg' now if you meant something else like the radiator drain plug On some models of the Pontiac Grand Am, there is no drain plug. In this case, you will need to remove the lower radiator hose and use this to drain the radiator.
An if you meant the transmission youd have to tell me what transmission you have and i will go look in the manual right now for you.

if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you.

Engine heats up to 200 then won't start.

Remove the thermostat, check in pan of water for opening temperature, replace IF it does not respond to various water temperatures...follow the radiator hose from the top to the top of the block...the little cast iron BULB contains the Thermostat, drain radiator first...drain plug found on bottom of radiator, take off radiator cap to equal the pressure which will enable it to drain...if cloudy/dirty, replace with new solution/water..

I was wondering where the drain plug is to flush the coolant out. Also, what is the best method to flush out the radiator? I have a 2000 Grand Am.

There is a drain plug on the engine compartment side of the radiator at the bottom of the plastic tank. The best way to flush your cooling system is to get a Prestone Raditor Flushing Kit. You can use a garden hose to flush the system out.

Trying to change coolant

If drain is difficult to reach or won't open properly, remove the lower radiator hose. You can easily drain system from there. Make sure you use a good drain pan and that the engine is cool. Once removed coolant comes out really fast from there.
