This could be a coolant fan relay stuck or the fan switch could be bad

How long do the cooling fans stay on after car is shut down

The coolant fan temperature sensor detects the coolant is still hot, and keeps the fans on. And remains on until engine cools down. Check the coolant when cold for proper coolant level. If fans stay on all the time, check the coolant fan relay. Good-Day! . It will happen more in warm weather than in the cooler months.

Loud fan noise, continues when car is turned off

You may have a bad fan and a bad fan relay or a bad coolant sensor. If the fan shuts after a certain period of time the coolant sensor is working. If the fan is extremely loud and grinding, replace the fan.

I have a 2006 Chevy Impala LT 3.5 L, and if I drive the car, the fan under the hood remains on, even after the car has been shut off and the key has been taken out. It stays on for about 2 minutes, then...

It's suppose to. The fan will continue to run after the car is shut down to cool the radiator down before a timer shuts off the fan. I also own an '06 Impala LT with 69000 miles, and the coolant has been "disappearing" Since there isn't any excess water coming from the tailpipe, I'm figuring it's the water pump, due to the noises it makes (think marbles in a beer can). Be safe and check you coolant level. Hope this helps you!

I have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. when the car runs for a short time 5-10 min. the coolant fan turns on and does not shut down until the car is shut off. plenty of antifreeze. what is keeping the fan from...

Sounds like you may either have a thermostat that is not fully opening or a radiator that is partially obstructed (externally or internally). If I'm correct, what may be happening is that when the engine reaches operating temperature, it is continuing to get hotter but at the point you are at, the fans are able to compensate by remaining on.
Only other possibility is that the temp sender is bad and sending incorrect info to the computer, causing it to turn the fan on.
The concentration of antifreeze in a system does not change the operating temp. What it does is prevent the coolant from boiling at a temperature above what plain water would. Your radiator cap also helps with that as a liquid under pressure will boil at a higher temp. Proper concentration is 50/50. Normal operating temp is about 210 degrees(f). (+ ) (- ) 5 degrees)
So, I'd test the coolant sensor and replace the thermostat. Hopefully the radiator won't need to come out but you may need to have it checked if neither other options work.

I have a 2007 Jetta with 40,500 miles and just noticed that the cooling fans remained on for over 6 minutes after a short trip to Walmart(6 miles roundtrip) . I have not noticed it before.

that is normal after shutting the car off. Do you change your thermostat and coolant every two years? If not its time to do so. Then the fans will not run so long next time

Why does my radiator cooling fan remain on after I turn off the ignition?

The car has a computer that is linked to the engine. It is hard wired to it meaning the computer is always on. Upon shutting your engine off taking the keys in hand the computer is still on sensing the engines temperture. The coolant sensor will send power to the relay to keep the fans running untill cooled down enough. Then the sensor will cut off power to the relay shutting off the fans

How long does it remain on for?
This is quite normal. It should switch of once the radiator temperature drops..
